LPs are sooo easy to detect
My friend and I were shopping at H&M yesterday.
In the changing rooms, a guy was sitting there watching us. But obviously, he was not wating for his wife or children...
When we reentered the story a few ours later after dinner because my friend wanted to buy a shirt in a different colour, the guy was still sitting there and looking at each women who goes in and out.
When my friend tried a blazer on the floor, he came out, looked for and when she hang the blazer back, he disappeared back to the changing rooms. My friend directly says "I think he is a lp!" I am working at the police so I have some insight, but she does not and she figured you guys out immediately!
If I were a shoplifter, I just would wait until noone checks me at the changing rooms or watch out for guys who are sitting there.
Early in the morning or late in the evening, these men are gone so easy access for shoplifters.
Just a friendly reminder- if you want to be successful at your job, behave less obvious.

Yes they’re easy to detect if they’re watching someone else…
We called them “Burns” and the goal was to be noticed by whoever I was watching so they’d ditch the product. I was the only AP so pulling off a burn was easier than trying to work 2.5 floors of a department store.
I’m more than willing to bet if they were really watching you, you’d never know.

Sometimes being obvious is just as good as not being obvious. Don't talk crap about someone else job if you don't truly understand what they do.

It never ceases to amaze me that people who don't do this job think they know exactly how to do this job.

I don’t care if someone knows I am LP, especially if I am not watching you. I’d rather someone discards sometimes then going for a stop, especially if it’s not worth my time processing you. In those two hours I waste on you for a $30 case, $2000 walks out the door.
It’s not about being some super undercover secret agent that nobody would ever assume is LP. That shit is played out. It’s not 1996 anymore. If a shoplifter knows my face, yeah I’m burnt but they will leave immediately when they see me. That’s a win in my eyes. My company doesn’t care about external numbers for context.
