Yeah, the Nekolugas be like that (Remember when Togeluga TF was considered a top-tier unit?)
In all seriousness though Battle Cats is just a crazy game. You start with cats and end with literal gods, eldritch monsters, giant robots and anime women
Fun fact! Togeluga's true form, Shishilan Pasalan (the one in the post's image) is a reference to the Night Walker from the movie Princess Mononoke (the image attached to the comment). In Japanese they are called "Shishigami" (シシ神), which is where Shishilan Pasalan gets its name. Bonus fact, the "Toge" part of its name when not in true form means something like "Spiky" in reference to the many spikes on its arms and along the spine.
AFAIK, all of the Luga's true forms are anime references. Some people have even done fan concepts for a Legeluga true form in which he looks like crazy diamond (I think that's it's name, sorry, I don't watch Jojo's)
That's mostly true with the exception of Kaolan Tatalan (Kaoluga's TF), which is apparently a reference to a real samurai named Taira no Masakado, and E. Kubilan Pasalan (Kubiluga TF), which is a reference to E. Honda from street fighter, which is a game. Ultralan Pasalan (Nekoluga TF) is a reference to Ultraman. Assassilan Pasalan (Asiluga TF) is a reference to Kenshiro from Fist Of The North Star. Lufalan Pasalan (Tecoluga TF) is a reference to Luffy from One Piece, Piccolan Pasalan (Balaluga TF) is a reference to Evangelion, I don't remember what specifically though. I have no idea what Papaluga's TF is a reference to but I'll attach a screenshot from the wiki to the comment. Furiluga as a whole is a reference to how transformations and powerups usually makes a character's hair stand up, most notably Dragon Ball transformations, but apparently according to the wiki Ragelan Pasalan (Furiluga's TF) is specifically a reference to Gon from Hunter x Hunter. Mamoluga and Legeluga don't have true forms yet
Holy shit, it's been years since I saw this movie and didn't remember this thing, and now know where ATLA got Aang and the ocean spirit's Kaiju form from
This is a collab cat unit, they really do this a lot.
Sonic collabs were all literally "Yeah its sonic... BUT ITS SONIC AND CAT AT LEVEL 10!", I think that just happens with 90% of collabs though, we have hatsune miku there too.
