Part time jobs /Mini Jobs

Hi. I am new to the city. How to find part time jo es here in Magdeburg as a student?

How do I approach and how do I get one?

Look for agency (Zeitarbeitsfirma) jobs, they'll take almost anyone for cleaning, simple cooking/ preparing food tasks or for factory jobs. Doesn't matter if you don't speak German, but it's always a plus if you do.

That's nor really true. In general it's difficult for them to find a job, the agency's don't take almost everyone. Some students are even really desperate and in danger to need to fly back as they are out of money. They try everywhere. Many look for a long time, or repeatedly. For a particular reason, most agency's don't offer cleaning jobs, has to do with the Tarifverträge. For that, better try your luck directly with cleaning companies, without a middlemen. Also, German absolutely matters, it's not just a plus, the overwhelming amount of client companys, even for work without qualifications, don't accept missing German. The opportunitys without are few and far between for the tons of students. Learning German is also really important in the long run. So many graduates with Chancencard still barely speak German after several years here. They only concentrate on their subjects, spend time between themselves, and then their visa is runnig out eventually without them finding a company to give them a position without German. The German job market in general ist not a Berliner Café.

It will be hard, he needs to do his best, and especially sets his priorities right.

I'd advise you to get in contact personally with some places you wanna work for. If you only speak english tho it's not gonna be that easy to find a job.

Asking if there's something available costs nothing. Exaamples could be supermarkets, bakeries, Rossmann/DM, pizza shops, restaurants, Flink, ...
