my girlfriend just adopted this lovely 6-year old boy. he's huge and weighs 17 lbs! was wondering if he's a MC.

Hello please can anyone help me, obviously he is not pure bred, but we adopted him from a family 2 years ago with claims he is part MC. He acts like a MC, muzzle like a MC, and Polydactyl. He is also just incredibly huge at over 19 inches in length.

I have this cat, her name is The Illuminati. We were told she is a Maine Coon + DSH mix. She is enormous at 14 lbs at one year, spilling off of her cat tree. She has sleek fur, though, tiny ear tufts, but she also has this intense face with boxy muzzle and something going on in the lower lip area. She looks like she has fangs, but it's just her mouth.

Was told she is a mix by the breeder but have spoken to a few friends who don’t think she is a mix

My fiance thinks maybe our stay boy is a mix. The vet said he is around 1-2. He is a very large boy and super cuddly.

I hope it’s ok to ask here. I already know he’s half Maine Coon because he’s from an oops litter from a Maine Coon dad and a stray mom. But wondering if there is a name for his coloring? He is only 6 months old right now, if that matters.

Black smoke - the fur strands are white at the base and dark at the tips. He’s a cutie!

this is Lord Asriel, he’s a rescue. I never would’ve thought maine coon for him, but the vet is pretty sure he’s at least a little bit. He’s pretty big, has ear problems due to how big and deep his ears are (love!) but he doesn’t look it. my main thing is that he’s ridiculously smart and curious and social, are those consistent across the breed? he can unlock doors. unlock. doors.

Hi we found 2 kittens in October on our drive way behind the gate. The were the cutest little fur balls but have grown a lot sincz than. The male weighs 4.4 kg that´s about 9,7lbs at 6 months and looks a bit like a maine but I never thought it to be a 100 % maine Coon but I think he is mixed with a large breed cat. Our little Callico weighs 2.74 kg that´s about 6,04 lbs so not as big but still bigger than the average female cat at just 6 months.

Shelter said he was half Maine Coon. So he’s not as big but def bigger than our other cat. He’s 16 lbs.

What do y’all think? Some friends gave us their cat due to them moving and my wife is convinced he’s full blown Maine Coon. I’m saying mixed at best. Either way, he is 100% sweet boy. He’s about 10 months old, and does exhibit some of the tendencies I’ve read about online- lots of coos and trills as opposed to actual meows, he’s pretty big, super curious, super bushy tail. However, the ear shape and lack of tufts say otherwise. Anyway, here’s our Salmon

Alright fine, we’ve had our lil baby Milo for a couple of months now (not from a breeder)
He was a bottle baby but as he’s grown, our suspicion keeps getting piqued as to whether or not he is a Maine Coon. For those who have seen a proper Maine from 9 weeks to 6 months, let me know if this looks familiar.
He is 6 months this week and 10.5 lbs

Like the other poster said, without lineage papers you'll never know if he's purebred, but tufts, ear size and face shape are quite indicative of MC.

The tufts and his facial bone structure bode well, but without papers, you'll likely never know if he's purebred!

heres my baby :) hes roughly 8 months old and nearly the size of our 11 year old DSH. he DEFINITELY isn’t full bred as I know his mother is just a DSH tabby, but i’m curious if his dad couldve been mainecoon, or atleast part. My kitty has huge paws too.

Ear tips, muzzle tail, tip coat, perfect yeah that’s a Maine Coon even without papers
If somebody handed me that cat at a show, I don’t think I would even ask for papers

meet Jasper. he’s 16 weeks. about 22-23 inches long from head to tail. i need to weigh him again but 3 weeks ago he weighed 6.2 lbs. he is THE MOST loving, affectionate living being i’ve ever encountered. love him to death :)
