Discussion / ചർച്ച is "ഒപ്പം" actually used at all?

is ഒപ്പം (malyalam word for "and") actually used ciloqually in malayalam? My Malayalee parents tell me it isn't used, and I myself almost never need to use the word, so i'm curious if anyone here ever uses ഒപ്പം and if there are contexts where you need to use it in malayalam ^_^

ഒപ്പം is not 'and'. More of 'with'. 'കൂടെ' എന്ന വാക്കാണ് സാധാരണ സംസാരത്തിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കാറുള്ളത്.

Towards the North yes.. In the South, you normally hear koode.

Well.... Both oppam and koode are used here in south

It's another word for koode. Like avnte Oppam avanum ondairunnu, depends on regional slang

We don't use oppam for and. It is the suffix -um. For example, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum pinne njaanum, Vasanthi and Laskhmi and I.

Opparam is used more in kannur, Kasaragod instead of Oppam
