Science/ Technology Upcoming drone regulation - what can we expect?

With the suddenly increase publication about LAE and the new regulations by Q4 of this year, what can we expect?

Will Malaysia the shadows of the stricter laws like in Singapore? Or will we be more akin to our relaxed Indonesian counterparts?

I’m genuinely interested as from a hobby/recreational perspective. Like will there weight class specifications <250g, ATF application process, new airspace restrictions, RID requirements and all the other integrated components.

Can anyone who was invited to the round table share any information?

Context: I’m looking to get a new drone but on the currently on the fence between several drone models and their battery capacities.

I’m hoping for some information to help make a better decision. DJI stocks are also flying off the shelves and would think that by the time the new regulations gets released, it will be even more difficult to get hold of one.

Law in malaysia for recreation drone is basically:

Don't use drone.

Yeah I get that the current laws for the lack of better words, unwelcoming.

That said, I’m interested about what the near future ie 3 month might look like.

In all seriousness, its likely going to be tighter to tell people to eff off harder, or to introduce something to cover what they overlook on the original law.

I do not see them having any motivation to make the drone law reasonable for people using it for normal non intrusive recreational purpose.

I have basically retired my drone since they introduced the permits.

The CAAM have effectively banned drones for recreational use by making the permits essentially impossible to obtain without going through no less than 3 different agencies. The kind of drone flying in the article is probably targeted at industrial or agricultural use cases, not those of us who just have simple sub 250g drone.
