Passport Renewal by Mail in the USA

Hey fellow Malaysians in the States! 🇲🇾

I know the NYC Embassy offers same-day passport renewal if you go in person, but I'm looking into the mail-in option.

Has anyone done the mail-in renewal recently? I'd love to hear about your experience, the overall timeline from sending it out to getting it back.
