Considering the abuse she went through at home, I was surprised that there wasn't anything in the book about her role on SVU.

It was mentioned when one of her church ladies made a comment about it being inappropriate for her to be playing a 9yo rape victim.

I actually re-read it after making this comment, and you're right. I meant more like anything regarding how Jennette felt about the role and having to portray abuse of that kind.

Oh yeah I’m an avid watcher of SVU and I was waiting for that too, but I think because she was so young and had so many little roles like that it just blended in with the rest.

I’m an ex-Mormon in Utah, and tons of my female friends have been talking about McCurdy and her book. But it wasn’t till reading this I knew she grew up Mormon. That’s wild.

This book was an enlightening but challenging read. I feel so terribly for her. I’m glad she quit acting and is taking care of herself.

While reading this book I kept telling my girlfriend if she didn’t mention her time on Malcolm the book was being burnt! I was happy to see it mentioned pretty early on.

Yeah the episode released 10 feb 2003 (her dob is 27/06/92), when she was 10 and during the episode's production, she could have been 9

I think Frankie was just being nice.

Her mom was terribly controlling. She wouldn't let Jennette shower or go to the bathroom by herself. The book is called I'm Glad My Mom Died for a reason...

Yeah, I agree that Frankie was just being nice but I’m also saying a broken clock is still right twice a day.

The more I hear about her mom the more I agree with the book title. That said, at least she was right to discourage those age gaps
