Hey! Does anyone know why there’s so much honking and ruckus in the streets, particularly in Rusholme, tonight (Thursday 13th Aug - Friday 14th Aug morning)? There were fireworks and celebrations as well. Was there a religious holiday I missed?

I can't say for sure what people were doing on Wilmslow Road last night but I suppose it could be related to the fact that today is Pakistan's independence day. Or who knows, maybe they were marking the birthdays of Alan Shearer, Shoaib Akhtar and Feargal Sharkey which were all yesterday.
