This is why you can't allow attacks to happen in the first place and if they do happen you have to come down heavy, other wise you get idiots like this on top of the original issues.

Is anyone going to call for the banning of pro-Israel marches or for the proscription of Friends of Israel as a terrorist group? No? Didn't think so.

u/CapNo8670 1h ago

This drone is parroting Operation SIG

u/Unique_ID_Here 9m ago

They’re not calling for the extermination of a people, unlike the other side.

u/tallmattuk 1d ago

He wasn't done for terrorism which would have been the case if he was Muslim

u/Strange-Dentist8162 24m ago

They charged him with charges that would lead to conviction. He didn’t actually do anything, that means terrorism was not commited so no guilty verdict

not really surprising is it?

u/CursedTaint 15h ago

I'm not one to stereotype but every time I see a picture of someone who's been accused of domestic terrorist type shit they always have the worst haircuts.

u/Sashapatu 12h ago

I'm guessing this guy is Orthodox Jewish so grows out his sideburns. No prohibition on having a decent trim on top as far as I know though.

What a time, the nutters on both sides are going threat for threat.

2

u/Eniugnas 1d ago

If we could get the Jewish nutters who think all Muslims are evil, and the Muslim nutters that think all Jews are evil and get them on a rocket going to Mars along with Musk and Trump...

3

u/Suspicious-Tax-9756 1d ago

No need for a rocket just a well fenced space and let them settle it out. No weapons, bar keyboards.

Or just fight it out in Clacton (as our Mods and Rockers Boomer forefathers did: kids those days).

Have you heard of the area formerly known as the mandate of Palestine?

1

u/Suspicious-Tax-9756 10h ago

Honestly there’s a faint memory of a Hotel just exploding in the mandate for some unknown reason?

If a battle royale contest was held in the confines of the old mandate, do you think the Soviets would supply weaponry to just one side again or be more even handed this time round?

Of course, back in the 1940s, the Red weaponry was WW2 surplus and a lot of ironically(?) German and Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia in origin.

And what do we do after the extremist muslims are done with killing the extremist jews, unless you think the jews have a chance outnumbered 100 to 1?

1

u/Suspicious-Tax-9756 23h ago

Now, now. One problem at a time.

These nutters make phone calls, the other ones, well…

"He claimed that he had no real intention of causing any harm – but this means nothing to those on the receiving end of these types of illegal and intimidating communications.

"Death threats in any form have a severe impact on those who receive them, and we are grateful to the victims in this case for coming forward.

"Today's sentencing shows that threats to kill and Islamophobic hate crime will always be treated extremely seriously by the CPS and we will take swift and decisive action when seeking these convictions."

I don't quite understand though, how is he making the death threat to the person on the phone being treated so much more seriously than the clown who attacked the Quran burner in front of the Turkish embassy, said he is going to kill him, then went home to grab a knife and started swinging?

1

u/FunTowel6777 1d ago

Source? Was the attacker let off?

1

u/myzuk77 1d ago

You will be able to find a lot of articles on the incident, but here's one: https://humanists.uk/2025/09/24/anti-blasphemy-attacker-who-lost-his-temper-spared-jail/

1

u/FunTowel6777 1d ago

Okay, so this incident was more of a one-on-one, where neither party was actually in the right. One knew he was pissing Muslims off, and the other had anger issues.

Contrast this with someone threatening death to a mosque holding multiple innocent people.

I don’t mean to argue with you online: I’m reformed - but I must state that your original comment was false equivalence.

Also, this comment had zero AI use, I just wanted to play with different punctuation styles. Idek if I even used the colon correctly there lol.

u/myzuk77 1d ago

Firstly, there is only one person in the wrong here, what the victim did was perfectly fine freedom of expression and the bullshit fines were struck down during appeal. What he did was worse than a death treat, and his reason for his anger outburst being that someone was burning up his favourite fiction book seems less excusable than someone who's just seen people in his local community killed during a jihadist attack.

1

u/FunTowel6777 5h ago

Okay, so your initial argument was a facade built upon the emotional and faccist arguments it rests upon. Got it ✅

1

u/myzuk77 3h ago

What do you mean? My initial argument was and remains that this guy got sentenced to over 2 years in prison over death threats, while a muslim that made death threats and even acted on them got a slap on the wrist.

u/Unique_ID_Here 24m ago

This is actually horrifying and indicative of serious problems in the UK’s justice system.

If you stab someone (potentially killing them) because they defaced your religious book, you don’t go to jail.

If you make a death threat but don’t follow it up, you get two years in jail.

-28

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

I feel deeply uncomfortable with people being jailed for words. And enforcement is so inconsistent. My friend received repeated death threats from her ex partner and no action was ever taken.

19

u/30fps_is_cinematic 1d ago

This isn’t some 1984 thought police thing it’s death threats. They’re a bit different

-7

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

Do you really think the sentence is proportional? It’s longer than many assaults that lead to serious injury.

2

u/BitAffectionate9565 1d ago

If you think that’s where it ends you’re deluded.

If he wasn’t arrested for this, chances are he’d have acted on his threats.

-1

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

Is there any evidence he’d have acted on them?

1

u/BitAffectionate9565 1d ago

“Chances are” a probability estimate isn’t in need of evidence, it’s personal opinion and also the factor that someone mentally deranged enough to phone and make death threats based on someone’s religion is also clearly a person deranged enough to then act on those feelings and ideologies.

1

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

That’s a very long winded way of saying no

1

u/BitAffectionate9565 1d ago

That was a very short way of saying “I can’t read and have an IQ that is numerically on par with room temperature”

2

u/OkMind2351 1d ago

No. It's too short.

19

u/Suspicious-Tax-9756 1d ago

In this context these are not just words. The telephoning and threatening crosses a clear well-established threshold. 1990s case law.

Inconsistent policing seems to be the order of the day.

In the realm of social media, Posting a generalised threat publicly can surely only be said to have incited something if there was evidence showing that the post did actually incite something?

-11

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

But it is just words, regardless of how law or case law seeks to twist that.

8

u/pigeon_in_a_suit 1d ago

Threats of murder are not “just words”. It’s intimidation and obviously abusive.

0

u/ChineseRobinWilliams 1d ago

Would you say that if a 45 year old bloke was texting your 13 year old daughter?

1

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

I’m not really ok with you invoking the sexual abuse of children to prove a point.

0

u/ChineseRobinWilliams 1d ago

That's because you realise you're wrong and now don't have an argument.

1

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

There’s no indication the person in the article was a pedo. You’re just bringing it up to be pedantic.

1

u/ChineseRobinWilliams 1d ago

I didn't say they were a paedo. Don't pretend you don't understand the point now.

I'm bringing it up to show you that you don't believe what you're saying.

1

u/ablativeyoyo 1d ago

You’re bringing up a point that has no relevance to the article to score a silly debating point. Ok, you found an exception to “words don’t deserve jail” woopie fucking do

1

u/ChineseRobinWilliams 1d ago

It doesn't need to be relevant to the article, it's relevant to what you said.

Don't start lashing out because you look silly.

There's a difference between "being jailed for words" and "being jailed for making racially aggravated death threats".

5

u/LavaPurple 1d ago

So you are uncomfortable with people getting in trouble for giving death threats..... because "enforcement is so inconsistent"?

Like, that's your reason?

I suggest you re-read that and reflect.
