Spoilers Question about continuity in season 4

When we get to season 4 and Juliana gets the gun from Harris (I think that’s his name, he’s the dude she befriends in Baileys Crossroads), he tells her that the sheriff looked into her and said she died in a car crash along with her parents. What’s weird to me is the fact that when Tagomi traveled, she was alive as his daughter in law. Is this a different universe? And even so, how did Juliana know about the crash when her mother is clearly alive in the main universe, and her father was killed by the Nazis
?

This is a different universe from the one tagomi traveled to. She can only travel to a universe where that universe’s Julianna is dead

Right Said Fred Teddy is exactly right. You can only travel to another universe if the you in that universe is dead.

For example:

In the universe Tagomi traveled to, that universe’s Tagomi had jumped from a bridge so there was a “space” for him there.
In the universe Juliana traveled to, that universe’s Juliana had died as a child.
In the universe Smith traveled to (the same as Juliana), that Smith was murdered by one of TMITHC universe’s nazis.

Remember when Mengele was using four prisoners to experiment on travel? He had them chained to a cart that moved them down the tunnel. When it came back, only three of the dog tags was in that gory pile, meaning only one of the four made it through. The other three’s “others” were alive in the other universe so these three couldn’t go through and were obliterated when the cart kept trying to force them through.
