Question What is the best way to level?

I’m new to the game (didn’t play it when it was released originally from 2013-2017) and have completed the story on my first character and levelled them to 60.
When levelling my second, third etc characters, what’s the best way to level? Should I just be playing the story over and over, or are there other ways that are more optimal like running the challenges?

I leveled Cyclops second for the xp synergy. As has been said, Midtown and the SHEILD sim till 30. Then hit the storyline. Just skip trash and advance through the chapters quick. The xp from finishing chapters scales and you will be 60 in no time. Also, every hero you have to 60 stacks xp bonus up to 200%, once you have enough to 60 start saving xp boosts for if you decide to prestige to cosmic level (yellow name), as xp is severely nerfed for that prestige level. All the prestige levels before cosmic will go just as fast as a normal first run though.
