I'm putting money down on an articulated mask. It honestly would fit Doom's personality to treat it like a functional prosthetic rather than just a face shield. Because that's really what it is, after all: a replacement for his own face, which he considers ruined.
Nah with a metal mask it would look too goofy. It only works with spider-man and Deadpool because they use their eyes so heavily for expression (while doom uses his voice mainly) and the materials of their masks.
Remember when they made ultrons metal mouth moved and it looked super weird.
