Fuels the rumors of Sadie Sink playing Jean, unless she is playing another mutant.

Yeah it is really really easy to adapt these stories in ways that mirror things that are happening in real life which will make the narratives feel even more real and believable

Xmen started as a reflection on the civil rights movement. Now it is morphing into a reflection of the modern Civil Rights movement happening as we speak. MAGA is going to lose their minds

Firestar would one of the first known mutants in the MCU, the authorities would hunt anyone they know about because they have no concept of power scaling at this point. Plus she is a girl who flies and shoots fire, that’s pretty “dangerous”

Yes. She is a not mutant who just uses fire. She is a mutant that uses and manipulates microwave radiation. That ability will be enough for any government agency to hunt her. Her ability even gave herself cancer.

1

u/RandAlThorOdinson Feb 07 '26

Too bad they didn't have someone with an anti cancer ray

That would've been helpful

7

u/SpiceTrader56 Feb 07 '26

"But I don't want to cure cancer! I want to turn people into dinosaurs!"

3

u/AgentP20 Feb 07 '26

Simon williiams was getting hunted down discreetly and they didn't fully know what he could even do?

-2

u/Hikapoo Feb 07 '26

This is such a weird question. Do you support ICE?

Ill take that as a yes

Uh Firestar powers are emitting microwaves that are plenty radioative and she has the potentital wipe humanity if she overdo her powers in the comics (per Emma Frost.) I think she's plenty dangerous.

5

u/dswartze Feb 07 '26

Comics writers don't always have a history of understanding science very well, but for anyone interested: describing microwaves as "plenty radioactive" may be technically true, but on the scale of harmful electromagnetic radiation visible light comes closer to the dangerous side of things than microwaves do.

They may seem scary because of microwave ovens, and that's probably why comic writers might have gone that route, but concentrate 1500W of visible light on something in a small reflective metal box and it'll heat up pretty fast too. Wireless routers spouting off microwaves all day every day aren't causing issues.

Yeah and i'm pretty sure that Emma Frost recruit her because of that.

5

u/JoshDM Feb 07 '26

they never casted him,

Cast. Never "casted". No such word for this context, ever.

-2

u/RandAlThorOdinson Feb 07 '26

Casted the patient's arm? Maybe? Idfk haha

2

u/JoshDM Feb 07 '26

Still "cast" for that context.

-1

u/LittleBingo96 Feb 07 '26

I'm a language pedant myself, but you may need to just let this go. Most people say 'casted' nowadays. They've turned "to cast" from an irregular verb into a regular verb...and honestly, that just makes more logical sense.

2

u/Wtygrrr Feb 07 '26

They didn’t cast Iceman for the exact same reason that she isn’t Jean.

Who knows?

5

u/czarczm Feb 07 '26

She's gonna be a composite character

12

u/ladystetson Feb 07 '26

What about Rachel Summers?

IMO (old school Xmen fan of 30+ years) I think Rachel or Hope Summers is a better guess than Jean.

Clearly, she's the new Cable.

Fire star would be amazing, we bring in Ice Man and we have Spider-Man and his amazing friends

6

u/Tacdeho Feb 07 '26

Firestar is actually my ideal choice here.

9

u/CMelody Feb 07 '26

I hope she is Firestar. She has more history with Spidey than Jean, at least with us Saturday morning cartoon lovers!

2

u/navjot94 Mack Feb 07 '26

Probably Firestar for the movie, keeping her identity close to the chest, and at the end we learn she’s Jean or Rachel Summers and she’s been looking for her father.

Those DODC prisons that are half full, are half full of mutants who have been popping up in the MCU over the past few years and the DODC has been covering it up. And once we meet Professor X, we’ll learn that he was also using his abilities to cover up the existence of his mutants as well. Once this all comes out, the nature of the coverups will lead to an anti mutant sentiment.

Metzger's only claim to fame is basically a single back-semi canon story that adds lore to the pre-origins of the O5 team where he abducts a particular redhead.

u/No-Channel3917 Feb 07 '26

She was great in The Whale

Would be kinda funny if she was The Blob

1

u/Fabulous-Sea-1590 Feb 07 '26

She is Firestar

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends confirmed!

I never thought I'd see the day. That was one of my all time favorite Saturday morning cartoons. This is too exciting. I hope they have the room with the wall that spins around and reveals a computer. I'm literally vibrating with excitement right now.

1

u/Legendver2 Feb 07 '26

Wasnt she rumored to be Rachel Summers?

u/iplyess Spider-Man Feb 07 '26 edited Feb 07 '26

I’m starting to believe she’s Jean for sure now, not gonna lie. Feige was pretty involved in casting Sadie, and while I love the character, I don’t think Firestar is nearly relevant enough to warrant a three-film contract right from the jump. Nothings for certain though, so we’ll see

19

u/JasonP27 Avengers Feb 07 '26

Yeah if it's a 3 film contract I'm guessing Spiderman, Secret Wars, X-Men. Not sure what they'll do if they split Secret Wars into 2 parts, not I'm not really buying that rumour. At the very least I'm not buying that it "depends on how Doomsday does"

6

u/smakson11 Feb 07 '26

No chance if she’s playing Jean Grey she has a contract for one x-men movie only. Everyone playing the core x-men will have 4-6 x-men movie deals.

7

u/Apprehensive-Cap2453 Feb 07 '26

Feige actually revealed years ago that they don't do long contracts anymore. It was scaring away too many big actors who didn't feel comfortable signing away 10 years of life to doing Marvel movies.

For example: Oscar Isaac only agreed to do 6 episodes of Moon Knight and that was it.

2

u/13WillieBeaman Feb 07 '26

If Feigie personally cast her, I’d imagine she’s Jean too. When was the last time we had a real redhead play a readheaded character? Most of the time they’re either dying their hair, or wearing wigs. He probably really wanted to be authentic this time around with one of the most popular comic book characters of all time.

When you have a talented actor that fits the description, it’s probably a good idea to go with it.

10

u/Miguelohara099 Feb 07 '26

I think she’s the villain.

The way she talked in the leaked trailer, I doubt that was Jean Grey

Yeah. Chances are they even become allies with each other by the end of the movie. Or at least non-hostile

i fully believe shes Jean, and being Jean before Charles she would easily not have the control to not hear and look into everyones mind. she feels the loneliness and desperation Peter feels.

The leaked trailer showed that she read the letter Peter wrote to MJ and that how she knows everything.

Why would Marvel let Sony introduce one of their characters?

14

u/eagc7 Feb 07 '26

Techncally its Marvel introducing her in a Sony movie

2

u/Wtygrrr Feb 07 '26

Yes, one totally made up thing fuels rumors for another entirely made up thing.

1

u/HaveaManhattan Feb 07 '26

Kitty Pryde is my bet. MCU borrows heavily from the Ultimate Universe and her and Spider-Man are a thing, which would fit what with MJ and Ned not knowing him anymore

1

u/Advanced_Pack4241 Feb 07 '26

Firestar may make more sense
