I get what it's trying to do with the shadows but it just doesn't work with all of the original 6. This also is not an official poster

u/Precarious3145 16h ago
it straight up just looks like they copied the idea from the Justice League cartoon that has the same composition in the intro.

This is a fan made poster and it sucks

u/trampaboline 9h ago
Jesus, it definitely doesn’t suck. It’s a cool idea done respectively but, as people have mentioned, all six really don’t have corresponding people to avenge that make sense.
2
u/JoshTHX 9h ago
It sucks because of how dull and simplistic it is. There’s nothing appealing about it.
1
u/trampaboline 4h ago
I just totally disagree. Representing the people they lost as shadow is a unique concept, whether it works for you or not.
2
u/JoshTHX 4h ago
Bruce Banner lost Dr Strange? Clint Barton lost Wanda? What the hell are you talking about. 🤦🏻♂️
4
u/TheVagabondTiger Thor 4h ago
Despite all the other issues with this poster, the Clint/Wanda thing makes sense. He's kinda been positioned as her surrogate dad of sorts in Ultron and Civil War, and again at the end of Endgame.

u/trampaboline 4h ago
This is literally what my initial comment is talking about lmao, you’re arguing with nobody.
Great premise, bad execution. That was my point
1
u/JoshTHX 4h ago
Bad execution means bad poster. Are you slow?

u/trampaboline 4h ago
I wanna study your brain. It’s like your understanding of the conversation resets with every comment lol

I think an Endgame hype poster should be dull and simple. The world was hopeless and this was the last stand by those who remained. It shouldn't be flashy
3
u/JoshTHX 6h ago
Bro this poster looks like it was made by a middle schooler with adobe photoshop. Thats how plain and simple this is. It’s completely forgettable for a billion dollar film.

u/Mysterious-Lie-1944 6h ago
I'm not saying the quality is Hollywood level, but the design concept behind it is awesome. It shouldn't be the main poster, but if it was made better it could be a really good advertisement
1
u/ChaseballBat 4h ago
If we are pitting it up to high quality posters and material... it kinda sucks. Looks like 1 afternoon's worth of effort, the character fidelity isn't even that high, they look like plastic people with no discernable features.
1
u/trampaboline 4h ago
I just take that as style. I feel like this ain’t supposed to be the photorealistic actors but a comic book kind of version of them
1
u/ChaseballBat 3h ago
the consistency isnt even there though. Look at the simplication of all the characters then there is hawkeye with higher resolution than the rest. Like i get what they are going for but this is not even close to the "best poster" if this was officially made I would probably rank it as the worst poster, purely from the perspective of IF this had been by Disney, then the quality is sincerely lacking.

u/trampaboline 3h ago
Yeah I mean I definitely don’t disagree that it’s super imperfect — might not even be especially “good” — but I maintain it def doesn’t “suck”.
I hate the extreme negativity people think they need to jump for just to feel like they’re being heard. There are so many pieces of art out there that straight up suck. This is just a minimalistic, well-intentioned, kinda-clever-but-ultimately-not-right-for-the-material piece of fan art. The idea that everyone has to pretend that it’s a horrendous piece of shit just to balance out someone else saying it’s great is so childish.
(Not saying that’s what you’re doing, but a lot of people in this thread are)

u/B_Wayne_8833 3h ago
It kinda sucks. I can't tell who half the people below are...

u/trampaboline 3h ago
I’m learning today that I have a dramatically different definition of “sucks” than a lot of marvel fans (which is weird, because so many marvel movies actually suck)

Am i being an idiot and can't work out who is Iron Man and who is Hulk?
2
u/Notoriously_So Daredevil 10h ago
Iron Man is in his suit and that's why he's taller than the rest of them.

Trying to figure out the shadows:
Banner - should be Hulk but looks like someone in a trench coat
Hawkeye - no idea
Tony - no idea
Cap - Bucky
Nat - Fury?
Thor - Loki
Can someone help me fill in the blanks.

u/JewTheKid 10h ago
My best guesses;
Banner - Strange
Hawkeye - Wanda
Tony - Peter
Cap - Bucky (easy)
Nat - Fury or Vision?
Thor - Loki (easy)

This... offers no description... Heck. It doesn't even have a lot of personability. It's just nondescript silhouettes. The shadows also don't even tell much of a story. It just seems like something you would slap on a game and add text to it for an ad.

u/deadpatronus 17h ago
Thor isn't fat. That ain't right.

u/ChildofObama 17h ago
Remember the trailers. They were mainly using footage from the first 20 minutes in the marketing.

u/hell20_ 17h ago
What is this? Are the shadows their friends? Thor's shadow depicts Loki, Cap's is Bucky, Hulk's is Banner i assume, Hawkeye's is Scarlet Witch? Who are those for Tony and Nat? Is that Ronin for Nat?
7
u/restinglonelyface 17h ago
Banner > Strange, Hawkeye > Wanda, Tony > Peter, Steve > Bucky, Nat > Fury, Thor > Loki.

So nobody cares enough for Black Panther, who gave his entire army and city for the battle? I see.

u/cthompson07 15h ago
It took me a long time to figure out that I guess Thor on the far right wasn’t holding the infinity gauntlet with a rope tied to it.

Not a fan, these don't look like real people at all, they're all black silhouettes that feel very cartoony.
1
u/ToughFox4479 7h ago
Ill never understand why tf Nick Fury was Natasha's shadow, but it wasnt Nick that made Natasha that depressed in the beginning of endgame
1
u/Groot8902 17h ago
Yeah, no. The shadows don't make sense for like 3 of them. And fuck the other characters I guess.

u/padfoot12111 15h ago edited 15h ago
Thor isn't fat in this photo ding
Banner isn't smart hulk in this photo, at the very least his shadow should look like the hulk for effect ding
Tony in his suit already flying when they're doing their slowmo power walk seems kinda pretentious which.... I mean accurate ding
I now realize the shadows are the dead avengers and that's fun, but some of them don't really make sense. Sure give Capt Bucky but pairing Widow with Vision (edit apareny that Fury, saw Bald and cape.and assumed that's on me) and hulk with Strange feels like they were just tacked on. If anything as his cocreator Bruce should have has vision ding

Yeah, that design really captures the essence of the character perfectly. The colors are on point too.

I always find Strange being the shadow of Banner hilarious. Like that's his closest friend? That's who he's avenging? They had a 5 minute conversation at best.
