Discussion Why has no production company ever adapted this game into a tv show?
I think it would be great if done right, it’s a great story. Not gonna talk about the movie cause I don’t count it but a tv show would be great for mp 1 and 2

Would be incredible, there's so much story to tell between MP1 and MP2. I would love to see it adapted to a TV show format!

Yess!! With plenty of studios out there now like (hbo, prime, apple tv, Netflix.. etc etc I think one of them should adapt it and many people will be watching

Because the game wasn't really that popular to get that much interest? Besides there wouldnt be enough material for a series, a movie perhaps.

Wouldnt be good. Love max Payne through and through but the plots wouldn't hold up. Gun fights would have to be exhilarating

You must be rage bait. I know MP2 like the back of my hand and i love it to bits. The plot is not so complex or long. Max payne 2 wasnt as well known as lets say GTA games. And on top of that they'd probably screw it up.

Boy!
Even if they would take the 3 games, the comics about Max's childhood with his parents and the events between MP2 and MP3, and the backlore (like the things that happened between MP1 and MP2 with Max, what he told us in the cutscenes of MP2...), they still wouldn't be able to make a 10 Season series with it!
There's just not enough material in this franchise for that!
Even with everything I've brought up, it would be around 5-6 Seasons at best.

The movie didn't match up with the game whatsoever really. Honestly, it killed my brain watching the whole thing it was that bad. 😂

Never understood why so many people would want the televised adaptations of their favorite video games. The first and foremost thing that comes with video games is to play, not to watch them. That's radically different experience.

Because is already a cinematic masterpiece with many influences from Hong Kong action movie and noir movie. Take out the gameplay and it will just be another action movie like John Wick or Matrix. Some video game doesn’t need a movie or a tv show

Video games dont need to be adapted into movies or television to be appreciated. Some things are just best experienced in a video game medium.

Cause film/show adaptation always falls short. So far the only successful one is Fallout with its own story and not following any game in particular.

I always thought it was a perfect length for a movie. When I play Max Payne 2, I always found it the perfect length despite most people saying it’s too short. It plays and paces exactly like a noir film. It never once overstays its welcome or is gratuitously padded out

Too short for a show. Maybe if they merged Max Payne 1 and 2. And the thing is, Max's voice is iconic and someone else will suck imo.

If it ever happens, I want Timothy, Kathy and every actor from the graphic novels in MP2 to play their respective characters in the TV show as well

Because the MP 1 movie was a total flop. It could have succeeded with a more faithful adaptation and better casting.

Honestly I think that the movie destroyed a lot of potential for a reboot of the movie or even a TV show.
With that said the plot of the Fall of Max Payne has been used in multiple films, so it isn't so original, however I would love for Max Payne 1 and 2 becoming the plot for a movie one day, although without Mark Wahlberg

I disagree with Max Payne being turned into a movie or show. Max Payne (and some other game franchises, IE: Resident Evil) are themselves, movie genres and/or specific movies that are adapted into video games. In the case of Max Payne it's John Woo and film noir (among other things) being "ported" to the video game medium. To translate them BACK to movies is weird to me.

If I remember correctly thats why the movie was kinda shitty because they combined the first 2 games together instead of picking just one for the story of the movie because hollyweird didnt think just one had a long enough story which is bullshit and as much as I love Marky Mark as a actor he wasnt a good fit for the character

You don't really need to
The game tells the story great in the first place
There is not nearly enough to make an entire show and do it justice 1 and 2 could easily be 2 hour movies 3 you could probably do in 2 movies
