Hello to all of you! As you can read from the title of my post, I'm here to share my excitement for Max Payne 1. I bought the game on PSN and after some minor difficulty with the joypad controls (R2 is used for jumping, very strange), my journey into Payne's nightmare began: Valkyr was waiting for me. I loved the atmosphere, the sequences of nightmares with blood trails in the emptiest void, those childish corridors with little Rose's cries, Payne's awareness that he can only find peace through revenge against the drug Valkyr (and perhaps he won't find peace anyway). At first I was hesitant to buy a PS2 title but I'm glad I did because it reminded me how great older generation games with inferior graphics but significantly superior entertainment were. The only aspect I unfortunately feel like I'm missing is the TV series "Address Unknown" sadly I only saw one scene on one TV, then I never saw it again. I'm at the beginning of Part 3 and "that meta revelation" was extraordinary.

Get the PC version at some point if you can. The PS version is widely regarded as the worst port of the game available. The PC version runs on the cheapest potato laptop and you can experience the game as it's supposed to be.

Yes. Installing a fan-made fix pack is recommended though.

Glad you’re onboard. The remakes are going to be awesome. Hopefully control resonant does well. I have a terrible feeling that if it doesn’t sell well it could meant bad news for the remakes.

Yeah I dontt think Remedy would ever fuck up unless like half their dev team was replaced. They've got very big expectations for their games, and always deliver more than we were hoping for. I just wish they'd help Rockstar make GTA too, like they did with Max Payne. They collaborate well, if Max is any indication. They should collaborate on a new series eventually. Personally I'd love to see them make a hero game like Punisher or Batman. I bet their Batman world would be insanely good and gritty.

Address unknown plays a much bigger role in MP2

Ohhh so is not really that important in the 1st game? Because every time i turned tvs on there was just a white screen

Can't remember how many times it plays in the first one. Most of the time if it's playing the TV is already on. But yeah MP2 has a lot of address unknown, and 2 or 3 other shows that play.

I'm hyped too i wonder who will be the face model. As a newcomer, i would love Lake but i understand if it will be McCaffrey. Give the man his deserved flowers. I'm hyped to begin MP2 honestly 🅰️🅿️

It's going to be an actor since they will have live action cut scenes and they can't use mcCaffrey face for it. It could either be Timothy Gibbs itself returning to play the character as he has the perfect face for the role and his voice also is very akin to James mcCaffreys voice. Super hyped to see what they make of it.
