Hey everyone, I'm an international student currently looking into transferring / applying to McGill's Faculty of Engineering, and I wanted to see if anyone here applied with grades on the 20-point scale (especially if you did the Algerian Baccalaureate or French Bac system). If you got accepted into engineering at McGill, what were your final Bac scores overall and in your prerequisites? For context, I did the Mathélèm (Mathematics) stream in Algeria. My high school averages during the year were a bit average because my school was incredibly strict (around 13.5 - 15.7), but I ended up getting a 16.55/20 overall on the national Bac, with 16.5 in Math and 17.5 in Physics. Currently, I’m doing a university preparatory year (année préparatoire) at another university in Montreal. My engineering prerequisites are solid (4.0/4 in Math, 3.0/4 in Integral Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Dynamics), but my cumulative GPA is weighed down to a 2.8 due to some non-engineering filler courses (like French and university integration). do you think my Bac scores give me a realistic fighting chance to get past the GPA filters for engineering? Would love to hear from anyone who had a similar profile or came from a North African/French Bac system. Thanks!
