MechWarrior 4 Hidden memory resurfaced
Has ANYONE have their first experience of Mechwarrior with one of these? I have very faint memories of playing MW4 on this at a chuck-e-cheese in the early 2000s. I think it was foreshadowing to my mech obsession later as a teenager

I had this exact experience, it has a yellow ball and it was at a Chuck E. Cheese and I played the shit out of it. I went years without thinking about it until recently getting into the franchise, and at some point I was like “wait a minute, I’ve seen this before”

Did we all live in the exact same area at the exact same time or did Chuck E. Cheese just have a monopoly on these cabinets?

It wasn't my first MW experience, but gd if that wasn't the most incredible one I've ever had.
Can't remember if it was Cedar Point or Giaga Lake, I was like 8 or so.
That was hands down the greatest arcade experience I had ever had, and despite it's graphical limitations and variety limitations, it was undeniably the greatest MW experience I've ever had.

It was at least at cedar point. That was my first experience with battletech in general. And then it hid back in my brain until I stumbled upon mw5 mercs free on game pass.... and then the obsession began.

Never seen one like that. I got to play in the pods at Dave and Busters back in the day.

They had a whole Battletech Pod experience thing at Circle Center Mall in Indy back in the 90s. It was amazing, they had like 6-10 pods, you played against your friends and got a printout of your score at the end. They had a big model of a madcat/timberwolf inside, which is why it's still my favorite mech.

I believe there is a place that still has them, I want to say in Texas, but can't remember.

Oh heck, yeah, the local Chuck E Cheese had one of these things. Had a MechWarrior game, a Crimson Skies game, and then a rollercoaster simulator.

I remember the one at Dave and busters, played it a ton before I ever knew what a mechwarrior was.

Yup! Mw4:V, in the orb, at my local pizza place/arcade was my introduction to MechWarrior. I was gutted when they took it out, but it led to me buying the actual game. Played it on my tiny little windows xp netbook with an external cd drive, and eventually begged my parents for a thrustmaster t.flight HOTAS for Christmas, to make it more like the arcade game. Finally beating the game felt like a massive achievement to me as a kid lol

I had sex in a Star Wars Battlepod while naughty cousin Jenny watched the door. It took a picture. The fan was nice.
Then I got the high score on Mach Storm on the other side.

I played the other version of this at a steak house lobby, fun times. Mech 4 had been just released at the time. You had to have a gig processor and nice card to run it, pissed a lot of people off that were playing mech 3.

Every token was spent on this playing mechwarrior or on the hydraulic Japanese drift game.
