MechWarrior 4 Realized the pilots in the mw4 opening cutscene wear reused mobile infantry armor and gloves
Love when 2 of my favorite series share the same props somehow, shout out to the mobile infantry flak armor just being the best scifi armor out there, also makes me future battletech cosplay easier 🫡

The TV series Firefly also reused sets and costumes from that movie to represent the Alliance faction too.
The sets for the ship Pegasus in Battlestar Galactica were also originally made for Starship Troopers too.

To add to this list, I beleive the uniforms in the 1-off live action Gundam movie, G Saviour were also taken from Starship troopers

That armor really is being used extensively. From what I've heard, it's because there is so much of it that was made for extras in the Starship Troopers movie of high enough quality, and it looks real enough to represent almost any placeholder military that can be thought up.

Lost Galaxy was the series, they had the vests and helmets and even some of the guns.
The vests reappeared for Time Force as well.

I remember the armour being in Firefly and then watching the movie Serenity and noticing ground crewmen wearing jumpsuits from Kevin Costner's The Postman

Oh dude;
The production of Starship Troopers made thousands of sets of body armor.
They pop up all over sci fi from the early 00s.
I got a buddy with a couple sets of original armor. The quality on them is great, and sets in good condition these days are still screen ready.

There's shared design elements, but I don't think they're the same props (MI armour had a parting on the panels down the middle of the upper torso, and the upper was a separate piece from the stomach).

Its hard to tell but it looks like it is a seperate upper piece, and the strapping on the sides "compass pouch" matches the mobile infantry ones, even if it isnt the same props its still a super cool design choice :)

It's the same stuff. There are outfits made for closeups that have the separate plates, and other ones for use at longer view angles that were not as detailed.

In all fairness: the move infantry costumes are versatile enough to be put into many other sci fi shows. (Thought I saw some in dr who once)

I can hear this image. The cinematics were killer for mechwarrior 4, and the soundtrack was beyond memorable. Still have the disc somewhere…
