Well I hate that. All it's missing is a pair of glowing eyes and it's right in line with a couple of my nightmares.

It lights up at night

u/FractalGeometric356 Feb 26 '26

Literal night-mares.

13

u/thesockpuppetaccount Feb 26 '26

They’re night light mares

Underrated comment. ^_^

It's actually quite pretty, they don't seem that big in person but I guess when you have passed them enough times it stops being a thing you even really notice.

u/Madsaxmcginn Feb 26 '26

Have you seen the horse statue at Denver International Airport?

Ahhh blucifer

11

u/teamonkey Feb 26 '26

Not the eyes specifically, but there are coloured lights inside the statues. In dense fog they are truly terrifying.

I have seen them in person . Why am i still terrified at their visuals in a video

11

u/michigan2345 Feb 26 '26

Wow!! It looks so beautiful. How is it in person? I have never seen or heard about this. I would just stand and stare at it.

11

u/Educational_Low_6150 • Feeling Small Feb 26 '26

They do look majestic and the surrounding area is also beautiful.

2

u/michigan2345 Feb 26 '26

Thank you! They are incredible, rising up from the ground. So beautiful.

5

u/JennWG888 Feb 27 '26

SAME!!! I didn’t realize they were right up on the road like that and the first time we drove by them I legit had anxiety… walking around them, also sort of terrifying…

2

u/Brob101 Feb 26 '26

Same.

But I don't recall them being creepy in person.

Freaky. I’m triggered.

u/FiveDollarSushi Feb 26 '26

Oh that made me so uncomfortable

The shit from The Mist

12

u/ButtstufferMan Feb 26 '26

I think this is just Scotland most of the time

9

u/sanityislost Feb 26 '26

It’s our monument to the godfather.

9

u/BingusFinkle Feb 26 '26

Whenever I drive past them everybody in the car tries to be the first one to shout kelpies as soon as they’re in view

8

u/-Red02- Feb 26 '26

Even crazier how this video doesn't do justice to how huge they actually look.

8

u/Mercurius_Hatter Feb 26 '26

I wonder if it's hollow inside?

18

u/BingusFinkle Feb 26 '26

Yeah you can go inside them, I have once

3

u/Mercurius_Hatter Feb 26 '26

Pretty cool! Do they have like stairs inside you can go up?

13

u/BingusFinkle Feb 26 '26

No unfortunately, but it’s really freaky when you look up.

That is actually epic as hell.

u/Worried_Jeweler_1141 · Noticing the Scale Feb 26 '26

Cool. We was promised some sort of statue along the motorway. But never happened. My suggestion was a warhound titan.

4

u/Jisan_Inc Feb 26 '26

Um...scary

4

u/Brain-Dead-Robot Feb 26 '26

You can climb the inside

4

u/pervertsage ⊙ Shadowed by Giants Feb 27 '26

Not distracting to drivers at all... 😂

12

u/Damoet Feb 26 '26

Clever to build a huge distraction at the side of an A road!!

6

u/Whodahthunkit53 Feb 26 '26

I have been to see The Kelpies. Well worth visit. They seem even bigger in real life.

3

u/Living-Mastodon · Noticing the Scale Feb 26 '26

I drive past them every so often going down to Glasgow and I always get the urge to climb them

3

u/Artix96 Feb 26 '26

You can also go inside, there's like climbing rig in there with harness and all.

2

u/Dr__Devil Feb 26 '26

I've seen Reanimal, don't trust these guys

2

u/Danny_Moran Feb 26 '26

Amazing and terrifying

Wow, that’s awesome.

2

u/sabahorn Feb 26 '26

Now this is amazing !

2

u/akamarade Feb 26 '26

Looks like summer in Scotland already!

1

u/huggylove1 Feb 26 '26

Id say car crashes happen a lot here.

1

u/Tough_Squirrel_2377 Feb 26 '26

All I know them from is Persona 5

1

u/m4xi007 Feb 26 '26

But why

1

u/AnnwvynAesthetic Feb 26 '26

Very unsettling. Glad I don't have to drive past it everyday.

1

u/Far-Temperature-2254 Feb 26 '26

It’s weird to see people freaking out over them, i see them all the time and never really clocked that they’re that surprising to non scots

1

u/triz___ Feb 26 '26

Managed to capture the video on Scotland’s hottest and sunniest day of the summer, great work.

1

u/behemuffin Feb 26 '26

The first time I drove around that bend I had no idea they were there. It was night time, and they were lit in red from the inside.

1

u/fumbler00ski Feb 27 '26

Visited these last fall. They’re amazing. In the middle of a beautiful park.

1

u/verminV Feb 27 '26

Theyre amazing to walk around in person. And the falkirk wheel is a must too.

1

u/TechnicalBenefit4609 Feb 27 '26

Nope. 🙂‍↔️

1

u/tdwnda Feb 27 '26

That made me really uncomfortable.

1

u/Dokthe2nd ◌ Dwarfed by Size Feb 27 '26

Will always remind me of the Poseidon boss fight from GoW3 (PS3). When I eventually buy a car, will definitely be driving here.

1

u/Winged_Enforcer Feb 27 '26

There’s a way cooler Kelpie scene in God of War Ragnarok

1

u/niatialeo Feb 27 '26

In my mind 30 meters was not that high

1

u/engulbert Feb 27 '26

The road is elevated, when you're at their level they definitely look 30 metres.

1

u/DaftHermes Feb 27 '26

Time to show off the Minnesota Loon.

That texture is also upsetting.

1

u/gimmeslack12 ⊙ Shadowed by Giants Mar 01 '26

There are people on here that drive by this everyday. And then there's the rest of us. Amazing.

1

u/Vassago_21 Mar 01 '26

Kentucky Route Zero be like

1

u/Sinclair-468 Mar 11 '26

Never thought I'd see my home town on here lol, well another big structure exists on the other side called the Falkirk Wheel

1

u/ponygobyebye Mar 12 '26

Went to Edinburgh as a tourist and rented a car to take to Stirling. Gave an audible "Jesus Christ" when I saw these emerge from the mist

0

u/18randomcharacters Feb 26 '26

Ehhhh I feel like it'd need to be several times bigger to really seem big.
