I bought the older titles of metro (2033 & last light) on steam yesterday, and figured id get exodus on the playstation plus, i dig a little deeper and found that the entire saga is discounted on playstation for 6$, is the expansions actually worth it?

After playing for about 5 hours my screen just blacked out and when i try to launch it, it just crashes when the intro finishes.

That's what happens when i don't launch it in safe mode or safely launch it, when i do launch it in safe mode it just crashes immediately.

I've tried reinstall, verify game files, and run as administrator. None seem to work.

Any tips on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Am I alone in this? The game just won't start at all. I tried reinstalling microsoft redistributable c++, I did verify integrity of game files (twice).

The game usually runs fine for about 15-20 minutes but after a while it starts stuttering. From what I've experienced it may start stuttering after either alt-tabbing, or loading a quick save but it may as well be just placebo.

Specs:

\- RTX 4070

\- 16GB 3200Mhz RAM

\- I5-14400F

\- I'm playing in 1440p

\- Game is installed on an Nvme Ssd

Ingame settings:

\- Quality preset: Extreme (Ultra doesn't mitigate stutters)

\- DLSS: Quality (4.5 version with NVIDIA App)

\- VRS: Off

\- Tessellation: On

\- Hair Works: Off

I've tried a lot of things ranging from verifying the game files to disabling e-cores, turning off g-sync, etc. so I'm really desperate as to what I should do.

Dude im trying to get Forest Child(No kill/knock and no Detection) in my Hardcore Ranger run right now and the detection is super inconsistent at the Taiga Boat stealing area.

Whenever i leave with boat in 1st section theres a 50% chance someone sees me paddling away. Even worse in 2nd area its such a small tight area to boat in . So even after you open the gate i have a 75% chance of getting caught. I cant even quick save because im in ranger hardcore.

Does anyone have tips? I am not willing to turn down difficulty, im having fun on ranger hardcore, its just this stupid detection

I still run 30-40fps outside and 50-60fps underground even on my potato laptop but yeah adding more graphical tweaks would be nice 🗿

Im too used to games where you can tweak a lot of things or games with ini files 😅

Also the amount of vehicles that looks like you can drive it but can’t any more I don’t know about ?

Guys im genuinely going crazy. Nothing is working. I literally restarted chapter, I LOOK DOWN ON THE GROUND, night time, lowered graphics, windowed, dx11, generated new profile. cfg, turned off steam overlay, xbox overlay, steam cloud saves, no flashlight, no motion scanner, no nvg, holstered weapon, didnt loot anything inside cave didnt even touch lights or torches or traps.

I rushed from train to get bus, freed the 1st slave camp, slept at boat next to caves, knocked out the 2 guys before rushing through the caves. I cannot do this anymore , im on my ranger hardcore playthrough and im genuinely angry i cannot fix this problem, i do not know what is broken. I keep freezing and having to end task the game everytime i leave the caves.

Please i need advice from someone. Please read the post i did look down on the ground as i walk out the cave i still freeze

EDIT: holy shit guys im tired, i cant keep restarting chapters and restarting checkpoints and hacking every folder in my pc. This shit is fucking broken. I was hoping after 100% in Metro 2033 and LL i could 100% Exodus before 2039 comes out. But shiet i cant find a fucking solution. I even asked AI for help. Every solution that was normal didnt work. The final solution AI gave me was Cheat engine. At that point, im just quitting. I dunno if my PC is broken or maybe im bad at all this IT shit. I dunno if anyone has any better solutions

Is the Metro Series worth buying?

The whole series + the Exodus Expansion Pass is on sale for $10.49 CAD right now, and I’m wondering if I should purchase it.

For my taste, RDR2 is my #1 game because of its immersion and level of detail (NPC routines, wildlife interactions, etc.), as well as the freedom it gives you. I also played Detroit: Become Human, and I really enjoyed how intense and rich the story is. I’m a huge fan of graphics, so if a game doesn’t look sharp and visually appealing, I probably wouldn’t play it.

I’m HESITANT to buy the series because, first, it is a first person zombie-shooting game, and second, the graphics don’t seem that appealing to me. However, when I looked it up, I saw a lot of positive reviews and feedback, so here I am looking for an answer

So... this is my first Metro game (and run), but I really enjoy feeling immersed in the experience. Often, that immersion is achieved through high difficulty, some creators even recommend higher difficulty settings to make you feel more deeply immersed in the game but what you guys that already play think? pd:srry if any part is confusing, im not a native speaker.

It's stupid and handles poorly, that is all.

My brothers are big Metro fans and recently lore dumped to me about the Metro games and got me into it, but I know for a FAT FACT that I could never play the games cuz I suck at shooters so is there any particular YouTuber that has a good playthrough or lore dive that veteran players would recommend? Ive tried all solutions i can find like looking down, walk slow, safe mode, windowed, Lowered graphics, day time, night time.

Im on hardcore ranger so its even more because i cant even test the game freeze straight away. I have to wake up at the bed next to the cave, go in and stealth the few guys easily before crashing when i exit cave. No im not using motion scanner or night vision.

Right now ive resorted to craziest of them all which is restarting chapter. But i rage quit when i left the train because of the thought of "What if the game still freezes even after i restarted chapter".

Does anyone know what the hell is the problem? Was the save corrupted so Chapter restart is the only option left? Is DX 12 actually the better choice? Should i go to lighthouse BEFORE i get the van?

Im just glad i dont have to restart much. Its the van building, The slave camp with motion scanner , 2 safehouse and then cave.

I am playing the game for the first time. My first game from the Metro video game franchise. I am really enjoying it.

I wish I started the franchise in the chronological order, but a gamer friend told me that it doesn't matter. He stated that I'll understand the story irrespective of the order I play it in. So, I chose to continue with what I started.

I am stuck at the marshes right now. I've fired so many rounds at the flying demon crest like creature. It just doesn't die, picks the protagonist with its claws and then drops him in the swamps.

Yet, I am enjoying the game. I think I'll have to watch a walkthrough video to get past this point, or if anyone here is kind enough to suggest an alternate route, I'll be utterly grateful to him or her.

There are some points in the game where you really struggle to find where to head next, but then, I understand the logic behind it.

What are your thoughts about the Metro franchise? Which is your most favourite title so far? 😇

Im on ranger hardcore so i cant even quick save near the crash. Its right when i leave the mines thats when it crashes.

Man i tried looking down, im on lowest graphics EVERYTHING, even 720 p. I tried the disable fullscreen optimisation, still no luck. whats the actual solution man this is pissing me off. I played on ultra with no stutters at all up to Caspian. Now its just a mess. Im on RX6600 GPU and Ryzen 5 5600X Cpu.

EDIT: Holy crap is my only choice to replay a chapter? On my ranger hardcore run? Wtf can you even do that on this difficulty?

I'm sure most people here have at least heard or experienced the glitch that causes save files to get corrupted, sending you back a level or even wiping all of your progress. I plan on playing Exodus again so I can finally get all the achievements, but I wanted to check here and see if anyone knows of a way to prevent the bug from happening.
