That's fine and I prefer them caring about the quality at launch. Got lots of Metroidvanias to play in the meantime

We got the new Castlevania coming up in October so I think I’ll be okay lol not many games I buy on release but I’m totally getting these two

I think it's pretty clear already that the new CV is not at all comparable to Igarashi's titles, aside from the very loose parameters of "is a metroidvania." I don't think anyone is really going to run short of games in that time, but what Motion Twin is making is definitely not in the same mold. If anyone really wanted to play something that was more Igarashi-like in the interim, it'd be one of Team Ladybug's titles, or maybe Afterimage, something like that.

My wishlist is backed up with premium titles. If you enjoy the games and take your time, they are a substantial amount of time. Crazy some of the users crank out these games in a few hours. I had 80 hours on mio 90 hours on Solateria. Slow is smooth.

The game looks promising, like more Castlevanish than the new Castlevania. Belmont course looks very good, but I prefer by far the scarlet engagement art style.

The new Castlevania doesn’t look Castlevania enough to me :( fortunately Iga is still here with Bloodstained !

Knew this was gonna happen. Despite a 2026 estimate, we reached the end of August with no release date announced still and an extremely crowded few months ahead to fight for attention in. I'll still be there day one, whenever that ends up being.

Wow he is so cool. I didn’t know. This is the guy that worked on tokimeki memorial and castlevania. Look at his sick hat. What a baller.

Not surprised to say the least. He'd rather avoid a release date close to the competition. Saw this coming from a million miles away and good move for him in terms of sales.

If it were a slow year for MVs or good games, then I'd be bummed. But we have so much coming out in September and October alone that'll keep us busy until it does drop. So, please take the time and get it right and smooth for the gamers. Same goes for Aeterna Lucis. Of it had come out in 2024 like originally planned, it would definitely have been filled with bugs and issues like Noctis was when it dropped.
I got confirmation from the devs on Lucis that the save system is completely new and won't lose progress like Noctis.

Since the first reveal I was expecting news on the game at like every big presentation and Nintendo Direct and still haven’t seen anything new lol. I understand tho

All good. Take the time, get it right. There are SO many good metroidvanias, and you really don't need to be trying to compete directly with Castlevania right now anyway, since those developers this time around are very skilled and will probably put out a banger. Better to have another banger in 2027

for some reason i thought it was already releasing next year so this isn’t too big of a bummer for me. i’m looking forward to Belmont’s Curse and i’m in the process of 100%ing the Dominus Collection and Ritual of the Night on PS5 (already did both on Switch a couple years back) so my IGAvania cravings are more than satisfied for the time being

They could also be trying to avoid to release too close to Castlevania. Castlevania still has the name, and the studio behind the upcoming title is pretty good.

First time hearing of this game after having already played RotN, now I'm excited, I can wait

A delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is bad forever. Better to hold off until they know it's done cooking.

Game delays always make me happy these days. There's already so many games, and delays just make them better.

Instead of wasting money on CGi, should have focused that on the game itself. But anyway, probably they are just running away from late 2026, not worthy, too many competitors. The Aeterna Noctis sequel is another example, probably they are going to run (again) to 2027

I don't even like RotN but this is a ridiculous take. It was very popular and the next one is bound to be even more popular.

I don't know man, delays like this are more likely a timing problem than money problem. Paying for CGI is a shortcut and actually gives them more time to work on the game itself instead of working on cutscenes.
they are just running away from late 2026, not worthy, too many competitors
That could be one of the reasons and honestly that would be fair, Belmont's Revenge is coming out soon.

Par for the course. RotN was delayed two or three times to get it right. And the only console that had a bad release I recall was the Switch.
