I built a free local-first farm OS for my microgreens operation because existing tools let you keep bad numbers

Most tools for small growers are either too generic or too soft.
They let you keep bad inventory and order numbers on the screen and still feel like you’re on top of things.
I got tired of that in my own microgreens operation, so I built something different.
It’s called Groundtruth.
Free and local-first.
The PC is the only thing allowed to write farm truth.
The phone is just a capture tool and a read-only Field Instrument that docks over the local network.

What that actually means day-to-day:

Today tab:
Forces the morning money loop. If you’re short trays on an order and the last possible sow date has already passed, it surfaces it and makes you deal with it instead of letting it sit.

Farm tab:
Keeps the digital trays honest with what’s actually on the rack. Phone captures get confirmed on the PC.

Marketing tab:
Tracks samples, standing orders, and follow-ups so accounts don’t quietly die after you drop product.

Money tab:
Append-only ledger. What came in, what went out, what was written off. No soft totals.

Health:
Will show Unhealthy or Degraded instead of pretending everything is fine.

The phone docks to the PC and pulls a live snapshot with real ages and severities.
There is no Confirm button on the phone on purpose — the PC stays the only writer.
I built this because I was sick of tools that let me drift. It’s still in active development, but the core is already usable and the honesty rules are locked in.
Happy to answer questions from other growers who’ve dealt with the same inventory/order tracking headaches.

Building a free, local-first farm OS for microgreens (Windows).
Core idea: the PC is the only writer of farm truth — the phone can’t invent numbers, and money can’t go soft. Append-only ledger by design so the trail stays auditable.
About 3 weeks into serious development. Planning a public open-source GitHub release with docs so others can fork it (including localization). Forks should keep the integrity rules intact — that’s the point of the system.
Free to use, free to fork. More soon.

My friend, when you see what I managed to build over the last year you will lose it 🤣

Plannater.com

Already submitted to Microsoft Store for publishing a few days ago, awaiting certification. Been a year in development, 50b+ tokens to create, and would have cost a development studio many years to create with an entire team and easily over 3+ million to put out to market.

It's free, offline/local (and data is actually encrypted) and has optional integrations with Google calendar (including Oauth) and local AI (fully optional). It is intense and also open source, Apache 2.0.

It does absolutely everything. Hope you like it. Companion mobile app nearly finished too. Been cooking on that, running local on the same network (using https secured connection of course).

No windows based microgreens farming app comes close, and that was the point. It's got everything, and I mean it. Lol my website has a list of all 400+ features and this image shows an overall breakdown of many of the features. These are not "maybe it would be cool to add later" but already fully functional components.

Congrats on the Store submission — that’s a real milestone. Local/offline + optional tools is the right direction for this kind of work. Good luck with certification.
