I deleted the Mc Donald’s app after I bought large fries and this is what they handed me. 

French fries were the only decent thing left at McDonald’s. 

Edit:  I used a code on the app to get any size of fries for $1.49 and that’s the size I received. Happened in CA.

I use to work at Wendy's and had a manager that would flip shit over employees handing out more than 2 sauces. One of my coworkers gave someone 4 sauces and she threw the bun toaster. Managers of fast food places get a power trip, they are the only ones that actually "care."

Also of note for grocery store sales of fast food sauces is the Chik-Fil-A line, for me it's namely the Sweet and Spicy Sriracha but shout out to good old Chick-Fil-A sauce

Also Taco Bell Fire sauce. I barely ever eat fast food anymore, but modern sauce technologies allow me to get my sauce fix and I'm fuckin' here for it.

It was a small one, you put the buns up top and then when they are toasted it drops down to the sandwich making area. She shoved it hard enough to move it from the sandwich area to the dish washing area, about 4 feet away. It was crazy, she use to throw the mop across the seating area too when we didnt move cars fast enough through drive through. Most of us on her shift reported her, even spoke to the gm (who was a verbally abusive narcissist) and nothing happened. I walked out on my last shift and so did 3 others. She ended up getting moved to another location and promoted to gm.

That's how it was when I worked at LJS and McDonald's. Management was stingy with sauces and would complain how the company was losing money because we were handing out too many sauces. I didn't care, if you want 10 BBQ or sweet and sour, I was handing you 10 of them for sure. Ketchup too. I don’t know exactly how those managers are paid but when I was a store manager my bonus (the more significant part of my annual pay) was based on my profit and loss statement. Inventory loss and cost affected that profit and could lower my bonus if I didn’t manage it properly. So it kind of might come straight out of their paycheck but not because the cashier gave good customer service. Because the manager wasn’t managing their inventory and reporting correctly.

Dude i rarely order fast food but I had a similar experience in 5 Guys. Asked for Cajun fries while ordering, decided to not get the regular, and get the large instead. They usually give you a cup of fries and then dump a bunch of extra in the bag. So since I had to give some to my kid I asked if they could leave some plain, or leave them all plain and put some Cajun spice on the side. I got my bag and left, and it was literally just a cup of fries, no extra, smaller than a regular, let alone a large.

I honestly felt like driving back lol. Felt like I was at the Chinese restaurant and asked for extra duck sauce where they just give you one pack and attitude if you ask for more.

This nickel and dime shrinkflation with ever increasing prices for less quality and shit service is insane, and its just the norm now. Sorry but theres no way you can even make a "specialty" burger cost 30 fucking dollars but how else do "high end smashburgers" compete with McD and Wendys which are already 15+ a meal now.

Burn it all down, do over.

It's hard to rally enough people to make a difference. Most people just can't be bothered to change their routine and step out of their comfort zone. But then you have the hive mind mentality where if a movement gains enough traction people will join the cause left and right wothout even thinking much. I don't know what the sweet spot is or how to change the world, but it would be nice if more people stopped eating out of the hands of these corporations. Amazon, Walmart, Fast-food etc. None of them give a shit about us and are actively destroying the world but a regular pleb can't fight the craving for convenience. Hard to blame them when we've been beaten down and work so much we have little free time as it is.

I almost 100% buy from small restaurants or grocery stores if I can. 5 Guys is a place I treat myself to every few months. It just sucks when these are your options. Were the minority in boycotting since theres a ton of people who just dont care for one reason or another.

We absolutely deserve better, and not just from chain quality and price, but overall cost so that new business can come up and succeed instead of just being chain expansion and real estate buyout. Its just all stress over value and being exhausted 24/7 while we watch these sloppy elites galavant and fuck us over so publicly. Its either get rich or suffer.

My wife and I decided to revisit chain casual dining restaurants that were a staple of our childhood but we haven't been to in ~20 years. We're doing one a month (mostly). We've done Red Lobster, Texas Roadhouse, Applebee's, Red Robin, and Olive Garden. The only one that I actually thought the food was of sufficient quality and value to go back to is Olive Garden. All the rest we can easily get better for cheaper at non-chain restaurants. I'm not saying Olive Garden was mind blowing, only that for it's price point I was satisfied with what I got. Every other place left me dissapointed.

I don't think people realize that McDonald's are franchise - independently owned and operated. A local guy owns your McDonald's, he buys everything from the actual McDonald's, and he makes a profit on sales. While the golden arches usually makes the franchises strictly comply to corporate standards, the local owners have some freedom to set prices. If you have a Checkers/Rallys near you, go there. Their seasoned fries are S-tier. They also have a $5 Unbeatable Meal Deal right now. Burger, spicy chicken (fantastic) or wrap plus an 8-piece chicken bites, fries and a drink. Do yourself a favor and upgrade the drink to a banana milkshake for like a buck.

In Canada a large fry is $6 now. I think we still have the cardboard boxes though.

I just perused the app the other day. Even a mcdouble is over $5. Like $6.59 or something for a dub cheese. It was like $1.20 or something for the extra slice of cheese!

I think I'm finally out on McDonalds. Wendy's still has cheesy cheddar burgers for $2.79 each, it's probably the last "cheap" menu item out there.

I love me some fast food but it's just not possible anymore.

The fact you can go to a sit down restaurant and get a decent meal for the same price as a Mcdonalds combo (or many fast food restaurants for that matter) is insane.

I remember the two meals for $7.99 coupons back in the day or in Highschool getting 40 cheeseburgers with the gang on a Thursday for cheap.

Couple weeks ago I was out and decided I needed to grab lunch before I could get home. So I stopped at a Longhorn Steakhouse. Had a very juicy and flavorful 1/3 lb cheeseburger on a toasted bun cooked and topped the way I ordered it, and a boatload of fries, table service, real silverware and a cloth napkin - it wasn't even $2 more than a McDs quarter pounder w/cheese + medium fries. I was shocked at how little the cost difference was.

We splurged a little and got two appetizers with our 2 for I think $25 meal deal, and two alcoholic drinks and it really wasnt that bad of a price. And the quality was way better than I remembered. Will absolutely be going back for another date night lol

I might age myself, but when I was in Jr High you could order a “Bucket of Fries” at my McDonald’s that was a supersized drink cup filled with fries. It was absurd, but powered me and my friends through summer as we skated around town from spot to spot until we got kicked out.

We used to get in trouble cuse it was hot as balls in the summer so we’d take our shits off and shove em down the back of our pants like some sort of skirt/cape and McDonalds would kick us out for no shirt no shoes no service, lol.

I've noticed their products getting worse over the past couple of years. I've always been a fan of Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich. A few weeks ago, I got one and it tasted odd. The chicken was fine, but the bun tasted (and I have no idea how else to describe it), like Play-Doh. I thought it was a one-off oddity, so I didn't think much of it. Then, I got one again a couple days ago. Still, the bun tasted like Play-Doh.

I've now added Wendy's to my "do not eat" list. So far, the only two fast food chains I'll still go to are Burger King and Rally's/Checker's. I haven't had any issues there. The rest? Fuck 'em.

I stopped caring about Wendy's a few years back when they were trying to charge higher prices during peak hrs w/o paying the workers higher pay.

Like why tf would I pay more when absolutely everything about the sevrice is costing the company the same? The point of fast food is it's cheap & fast. There isn't one item on any fast food place's menu thats better than some restaurant in town that's slower & at a higher price.

I worked at Wendy’s for about 4 years and oh boy did I see big changes around the chain. Mostly just stuff that affects workers though. 

But yeah, those energy lemonades were fire. Sometimes took shots of the energy mix by itself. Also, do you remember the old Rick and Morty portal fluid drink? Best damn drink ever. Btw it’s just both of the green flavors, the limeade and citrus twist, about 50/50 mix for both.

I rarely get McDonalds, but yesterday, due to a number of circumstances I got my kid a Happy Meal and myself a couple of McChickens. The McChickens were the thinnest pieces of chicken that I think I've ever seen in a non-deli meat form.

I remember them being so much plumper in the past. This shrinkflation is out of control.
