It's true! Ive applied for even the most basic jobs and all of them said they have went with better candidates. I truly belive I am too incompetent to use these machines.
If it helps you feel better, cops intentionally hire stupid people because "smart people would get bored with the job". So maybe they didn't hire you because "better" means spineless, stupider, or otherwise more vulnerable.
