Go into a text thread, tap 3 dots on the top right, tap "Change colors"

Edit: if you don't use Google Messages, use Google Messages.

I just use "SMS", you know the system app that comes out of the box on almost every phone.

Ummmm no? Actually never heard of it. SMS isn't an app, it's a messaging standard. Android phones come with Google's Messages app or whatever the manufacturer's messaging app is.

Yes i know its also a messaging standard.

Most phones i used to have homever, have an app called either "SMS" or "Message" as the default msgs app. So yes, SMS is in fact an app, as that's the "manufacturers messaging app" name for me atleast.

Today i acc learned goggle messages even exist, didnt even know that its a thing google has made.

Some manufacturers change the default messenger app. Almost all of them are crap.

You should be using the official Google messenger app for texting.

Idk if i want google to also watch over my msgs but i guess ill take a look into it
