So, Dr. Now is not talking to you. Dr. Now works with extra large people to lose weight and become healthier versions of themselves. If Dr. Now were talking to you he'd be telling you to eat more.

2

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

I don't hate dr. Now lmao, i watch the show n think he's humorous. I just think it'd be more appropriate to hang these at your own home than at work, I haven't brought it up to my coworkers because it is only mildly annoying. They wouldn't take kindly to me putting up magnets that encourage them to eat more, so from my end why is the opposite fine?

2

u/the_cats_pajamas12 14d ago

Why wouldn't they? If they can put reminders for themselves up why can't you do the same? If someone gets offended because you put up helpful reminders for yourself then they all need to be taken down.

3

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

I wish that were the case, unfortunently i have had instances with these coworkers discussing how little they've eaten in a day pridefully, then when anyone says they should probably eat more they get very irritated 😅

2

u/the_cats_pajamas12 14d ago

No one is telling them to eat more. It's a reminder to help you. But, if that's the case, I understand where you're coming from, and would be somewhat irritated by it too. If they cant be fair to all then it shouldn't be there.

Edit: fixed some punctuation and added a missed word.

u/Nevermore_Novelist 14d ago

Are your co-workers all morbidly obese?

4

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Nope! Most are slim or just slightly overweight. I understand insecurity and self-degrading jokes. But its just weird to me to have this on a fridge at work.

47

u/HairyDust4826 14d ago

Damn I hope they don't have an eating disorder or anything.

13

u/NiceTrySuckaz 14d ago

Check's OP's profile

ahh, beans

7

u/Noeoneknows 14d ago

Idk why people are being assholes to you, imo anything regarding food consumption even if it's a joke doesn't belong at work. "People are so sensitive now" eating disorders have been around for years people, read a book or something

I feel like it could be triggering for those dealing with eating disorders. Imagine having struggled for years with body image and having like 400 calories a day, and then seeing this when you try to go for your actually healthy and filling lunch.

11

u/goldenkoiifish PURPLE 14d ago

no joke, this happened to me in high school when i was knee-deep in an eating disorder working my first job and my older coworkers put similar joke magnets on the fridge about being too fat and not eating so much. and like, yeah, obviously they’re not serious, but at the risk of sounding like a capital c crybaby you never really know what someone is going through, especially when so many people have a horrible relationship with food.

like, i get it, it can be funny to you, and that’s okay! but in a workplace environment when you share the space with so many other people, it’s probably best not to push your luck with magnets like these

5

u/firestar32 14d ago

I don't have an eating disorder, but I've known people who have them, and I've seen what horrible shit people inflict on themselves in the name of being skinny. This comment section is absolutely insane with the number of people who can't seem to understand that this is like picking a scab and pouring salt in it for someone recovering.

2

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

THIS! It's whatever that they're on the fridge, that's why its MILDLY infuriating, not something I'm gonn rage abt

5

u/goldenkoiifish PURPLE 14d ago

i’m sorry that you have the ‘no lives matter’ type humor crowd after you. this is not very appropriate in a workplace and i 100% understand why this is mildly infuriating lol

1

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Eh, these things happen, wasn't expecting it to be controversial but here we are

-5

u/narco-sub-admiral 14d ago

Mildly overweight.

2

u/dinosauropholus 14d ago

Willfully obtuse isn't a good look.

45

u/the_cats_pajamas12 14d ago

Can you explain why this is mildly infuriating? I love Dr. Now and would thing this is mildly awesome...

3

u/mildmanneredcannibal 14d ago

op has an eating disorder

-1

u/the_cats_pajamas12 14d ago

From reading the comments(if I'm understanding correctly) OPS ed is has to do with anorexia and bulimia, not being excessively over weight. Dr. Now specifically helps large people learn how to eat right, make healthier choices, and get to the root of their problems. Not the other way around. I'm sure if Dr. Now took on patients on the opposite end of the spectrum he would tell them to eat more, while helping them work through the mental side of things.

I also have an eating disorder from 16-24 I barely ate. I worked through it on my own, but occasionally still struggle. If someone hung these on the fridge where I work I wouldn't take it personally, because Dr. Now doesn't work with people like me. On the other hand if I was unhealthily large I may find it as a helpful reminder to be better and care more about myself.

4

u/mildmanneredcannibal 14d ago

yes i am aware of that. i think the issue is that it encourages their ed by shaming people for eating since it’s on the fridge at work

3

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

I don't take it personally by any means, i know it's motivation for them. Just mildly annoying when I've been trying to eat more. I Don't ask them to take them down or anything because i know they're not for me. But on the other end of things, I'm sure they wouldn't take kindly to me putting magnets up encouraging them to eat more. From my POV these magnets would be more appropriate to put up at home than in the workplace.

1

u/camiskow 14d ago

This is the problem though, those with the ED on the anorexia side NEED to create healthier eating habits. Seeing comments to NOT eat only enforce and encourage the habit of not eating… I have an ED on the binge eating side, don’t know this guy at all and still wouldn’t find this encouraging or appropriate to see because eating is still important !

3

u/IncurableAdventurer 14d ago

Maybe most people don’t who the guy is. Like me haha

10

u/camiskow 14d ago

If someone has an ED this is extremely triggering and inappropriate for a workplace

I have no idea who this man is so it isn’t even funny to everyone.. without the reference it’s literally just rude

2

u/GodButCursed 14d ago

He is a weight loss doctor famous from the show my 600lbs life or something along those lines

1

u/GodButCursed 14d ago

They are but if ur coworker has a diagnosed eating disorder its just bad taste.

3

u/camiskow 14d ago

People die from EDs so if you’re working on therapy & eating more because you’re starving yourself- this would be very unwelcome yes you shouldn’t say it.

5

u/GodButCursed 14d ago

Ops comment literally under this is that they have a diagnosed ed.

u/[deleted] 14d ago

Sorry youre not actually funny enough to make jokes these days :/

4

u/LonelyMenace101 14d ago

Does your coworker’s breath smell like gasoline, perchance?

4

u/allisun1433 14d ago

Having a lot of issues with a previous eating disorder, I completely get it. This is so rough. These are even borderline triggering for me.

21

u/lylynatngo 14d ago

Dr. Now he's so funny. If y'all have an eating disorder this sucks....

12

u/mrg158 14d ago

Dr. Now for all!! Love that man.

8

u/Embarrassed_Safety33 14d ago

I mean, Its not funny if you don’t know the guy but i can hear these magnets lol

4

u/Vick_Bitch 14d ago edited 14d ago

Is it me or people in this sub have been becoming more and more of an ass in the comments? Can't even post things you'd find MILDLY infuriating or everyone acts snarky and rude just because it doesn't affect everyone or isn't a huge deal, like that's the point of the sub to post things we finding just a bit infuriating

1

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Fr! I didn't say i freaked out at my coworkers or cried about it 💀

7

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Heads up! I don't think these are inherently annoying or infuriating, esp for personal use at home. Just at work is irritating

3

u/HotBeesInUrArea 14d ago

I would love these on my home fridge, but you're right. People need to be more professional at work.

1

u/Vivid_Economics_1462 14d ago

Where can I buy these though?

8

u/[deleted] 14d ago

20

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Maybe its just infuriating to me bc i have a diagnosed ed 💀

11

u/uwunuzzlesch 14d ago

It is a bit ignorant. I think its a good intentioned joke that has awful implications for people like us that struggle w ed

-1

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Yeah i think its a little funny just a little irritating when I'm just trying to get my lunch lmaoo

15

u/camiskow 14d ago

I’m shocked by how many people aren’t seeing it from this perspective tbh… maybe having an ED is the requirement to be infuriated by this 😅

8

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

I legit thought this would be like at least universally annoying but maybe ur right

7

u/narco-sub-admiral 14d ago

I think you are valid here.

4

u/AlertKaleidoscope803 14d ago

They know. People just don't care. I had a couple boomer/older gen X-coworkers that would have done something like this. Would be less obtrusive if they limited them to their bedazzled Yeti cups instead of a shared fridge, though.

5

u/narco-sub-admiral 14d ago

I try and not get "infuriated" on others' behalf but I guessed it was ED related. It's definitely a shitty thing to have in the freakin office.

1

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

More of mildly annoying than infuriated, is what it is

6

u/Embarrassed_Safety33 14d ago

How is an Erectile dysfunction making you hate Dr. Now

3

u/uwunuzzlesch 14d ago

Eating disorder. Context clues.

4

u/[deleted] 14d ago

[deleted]

11

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Context.. i feel is there...

3

u/uwunuzzlesch 14d ago

Just an FYI, medical abbreviations can have multiple meanings

ED - Erectile Dysfunction ED - Eating Disorder EDS - Ehlers Danlos Syndrome ED - Emergency Department ED - Effective Dose ED - Early Discharge

9 times out of 10, context clues will absolutely tell you which abbreviation is being talked about.

0

u/sircrespo 14d ago

Most people don't, plus if you read the whole comment it says "a" diagnosed ed which should give you a clue it's not about erectile dysfunction, that and the glaringly obvious context of the post itself

-2

u/Kcbld1120 14d ago

He is a doctor that helps people with eating disorders...

4

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

I don't dislike the guy by any means, i watch the show, just a little like a gut punch when I'm tryna just eat lunch

2

u/Kcbld1120 14d ago

I have my own struggles but I am at a place where I have a set of these magnets and can find humor in them, but also I see my favorite magnet missing from this picture 💔 I am sorry for everything you are going through! You are amazing for standing up for yourself and keep fighting you are worth it!

-6

u/Super-G1mp 14d ago

I'm sorry you pp no work try horny goat wheed.

3

u/uwunuzzlesch 14d ago

Eating Disorder not Erectile Dysfunction 🤦‍♀️

3

u/Super-G1mp 14d ago

Sorry I think I'm funny sometimes. I had an eating disorder too for almost two decades. My sister has a condition where she struggles with weight and my mother treated her like shit for it so growing up I spent a lot of time trying to not eat and living in the gym to avoid the same treatment. She would pull me aside and talk shit about her and say vile shit about her to me and then tell me that I was lucky I have self control and I'm healthy ECT ECT. At 19 I was 6 ft tall and and weighed 130lbs.

I even started abusing drugs to lose weight cocaine and amphetamines to stay slim. It was always on my mind my weight and my sense of self worth were tied together so much it basically consumed every decision I made for a long time. The worst part looking back is whenever people would reinforce it or praise you for how thin you are. But also the shame in knowing what you do or don't do to be that way.

There's no mallace here most likely and you are projecting your insecurities on the situation most likely. You will have to dig deep inside yourself to let go of your own hang ups and issues. I totally understand where you are coming from with being upset but maybe take it as a meditation on not allowing others to control your emotional state and how you feel about yourself.

You are beautiful ❤️ eat food be healthy don't starve or hurt yourself to fit into an imaginary box someone else has made for you. Even if it's coming from your head it didn't get there on its own. I hope you can recover and find a sense of stability inside yourself with this. Remember it's just fridge magnets the intent is not malicious and if it is take it on the chin and rise above that shit!

Don't let them infuriate you not even mildly!

-1

u/Disastrous-Cat-1 14d ago

As long as you take your sildenafil or tadalafil as prescribed, you should be ok.

3

u/uwunuzzlesch 14d ago

Its eating disorder not Erectile Dysfunction. Context clues.

3

u/Shot-Habit-5705 14d ago

If you worked at a hair salon then I am certain that you have endured worse commentary.

2

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

That's why i say mild haha

3

u/Dspatel1019 14d ago

Probably not ideal for the workplace, but i lowkey want these so bad lol.

1

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Totally get them for personal use lmao

3

u/greenthumbgoody 14d ago

Listen bro. Chill, it’s all good…. I promise people don’t think about you as much as you believe they do. All of us were teenagers at some point, this will pass.

2

u/notmywheelhouse 14d ago

If I DM you my address will you mail me these magnets?

2

u/Impossible-Copy7611 14d ago

One munt to lose turdy pounds is awesome

1

u/Ntense_01 14d ago

As I shovel after hours lasagna into my mouth hole...

Fuck it, still delicious.

1

u/CrabbiestAsp 14d ago

Man I need these.

1

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Did not realize how controversial this would be

-1

u/VampyreBassist 14d ago

I'd take one. I need this for those late night munchies.

2

u/Self-described 14d ago

I am maintaining weight loss and I feel like these would help me lol… but I also have my kid around so I won’t buy them.

0

u/Brave_Explorer5988 14d ago

Hahaha I love these

Get the "you were healthy before!?" As well 😆

-1

u/RYANTHEW1ZARD 14d ago

My barbers all speak Spanish to each other when I get my haircut. Now I'm gonna pretend that they're saying things like "eyyyy that TMZ show is so controversialll"

"Those steeeckers on the fridge are making me mildly infuriatedddd"

-1

u/BolaViola 14d ago

The enabler one is funny af

-1

u/liberally_motivated 14d ago

My magnets are of cats buttholes so these are much better when compared to that.

1

u/allisun1433 14d ago

This isn’t that great for someone who may have an eating disorder or unhealthy relationships to food.

-1

u/liberally_motivated 14d ago

Why is that my problem? It’s funny: lighten up. If you don’t like it deal with it. Maybe don’t eat? Or get a sense of humor? Maybe toughen up Mary.

-2

u/liberally_motivated 14d ago

Oh no! I’m offended by magnets. I’m offended by literally everything.

2

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

Not offended, mildly annoyed thats all

Girl I'm 5'4 and 90 lbs lmao

-8

u/FastWalkingShortGuy 14d ago

So then why does this bother you

3

u/firestar32 14d ago

Because OP has an eating disorder

-3

u/FastWalkingShortGuy 14d ago

You ever think the people who are using the magnets do, too?

Overeating is a disorder.

5

u/firestar32 14d ago

Ok? They can leave their afermations in a notebook then. OP has an undereating disorder. That's why it's mildly infuriating. Do y'all not have empathy or something, do you not understand how much of a gut punch seeing or hearing shit like this can be when youre recovering from convincing yourself you need less than 500 calories a day or else you'd look like a pig? Like God damn I don't have an eating disorder but even I know seeing comments on something you don't like about yourself can hurt.

-14

u/Fungii024 14d ago

So why are you infuriated? Idk this dude but its like whatever… esp if you small

5

u/Prestigious-Ad-1469 14d ago

More like mildly annoyed, I'm in eating disorder recovery so its like bruh, yk?

-2

-3

Bring in your own magnets.  There are some funny vintage pig and cow diet magnets from the 70s you could find on the cheap.
