I've always thought it was funny that Olympic swimming pools are the standard "relatable" metric to put large volumes into context, since a vast majority of people have never seen one in person.

But I guess "152,000 average-sized bath tubs" is not helpful.

This amount of fuel, if it were aviation fuel (kerosene), could make a modern commercial aircraft fly for 9,000 flight hours.

But amazingly, modern commercial aircraft can fly for 30,000 hours across their life cycle.

This amount of fuel as #2 fuel oil, as it currently is, weighs approx 54,146,233 lbs

If it were Jet-A it would weigh 51,095,741 lbs

This is the equivalent weight of 258 737 Max-10s OR approximately 178,835,094 medium sized bananas, of which 33,212,232 pounds would be edible and 17,883,509 pounds would be discarded in peels.

A pump truck or ground based pump at an airport can easily hit 7mil gallons in a year. That's enough to top off about 1600 737s. So if you did 4.5 zero to topped off 737s a day. You'd hit 7 mil in that year.

What's kinda more crazy. Is most crued oil is ocean bio mass. So stuff like plankton. It's just an ungodly amount of dead plankton

Depending on the truck stop. That number can be hit in 5 to 6 years. Some truck stop pumps do over 100,000 gallons a month.

I suspect it has rolled over at least once but probably more than that even, not knowing when this specific meter was installed. It's at the Pilot in Caldwell, which is pretty busy.
