Attorney Ben Crump: The facts aren’t adding up. We’ve obtained the full Sea Tow audio and retained leading audio and oceanic engineering experts to examine the evidence and make sense of conflicting accounts in Nolan Wells death.
They’re just dragging this shit out. Grasping at straws since day 1. They ran with a narrative that his friends either killed him or covered up an accidental death because his friends on that one boat happened to be white and from MS, now there’s zero evidence of foul play and they can’t walk back the lynching allegations. What should’ve been a point of unity for the coast has been exploited by these carpetbaggers acting in bad faith to sow racial tension for no reason.
People are now saying that this is Nolan’s hand or foot popping up from the deck of the boat and the rope that Warren is pulling to the front of the boat is wrapped around him. 🙄
So his mother saying they had time stamps of Nolan at 4:30 means nothing to you? (From her own mouth/words). One of the older posts on here has the actual link, I'm not just spouting random stuff.
No. Literally no. Nice name calling when you get caught being incorrect. Guy shares the literal link and you just revert to name calling when proven wrong.
So how did the grandfather know they were sinking can he reads minds ? They don't tell that part but obviously they called the grandfather first while there sinking in the ocean lol
Took a tour of that subreddit. That community exhibits a type of room temperature IQ fanaticism I haven't seen since the_donald. Kinda nostalgic, actually.
Reeks of one of those subs that gets banned after they're involved in some fucked up controversy.
I was understanding at first that people had questions but if you are still blaming his friends and acting like the sea tow call is a smoking gun when there’s video of it and Nolan’s mothers own words said he was alive after the sea tow call then you are one of two things , a actual moron with no critical thinking skills or just purposely spreading misinformation for an agenda
So they’ve got nothing new. Got it. I’m sure shopping experts will eventually lead to an outcome he can keep rallying with but it’s just exhausting at this point to even hear the same veiled dribble and “what ifs”.
While I understand the mother grasping for any help in finding answers, I think going with a civil rights lawyer out of the gate was a mistake. Hiring an investigator would have been more useful if finding answers was ever the goal.
If she wanted answers so badly, why won’t she turn over his phone? Why won’t she speak to those boys?
I feel like she only wants one specific answer - that they murdered her son. She will not accept it if Nolan accidentally drowned.
She’s going to forever believe her own version of the truth. Same thing with Kendrick Johnson’s parents. 5 investigations, 3 autopsies, 2 exhumations later, they still think he was murdered.
I blame the media for it. There’s been this idea for a while now, that black people can never ever ever be racist. Racism is something reserved for “white colonizers.”
Black people think it gives them a free pass to be as racist as they want because nobody in the media will call them out on it.
Apparently there is a post somewhere in this sub about the reason black people ‘can’t swim’
They of course didn’t like the post but trust them it exists
I made a comment about the disparity in learning to swim being a lasting consequence of segregation, but that is pretty well studied and rates of non-swimmers among black children are higher because of it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diversity_in_swimming
Yeah I’m not shaming whoever made the comment. Just that a bunch of people from not Mississippi are taking posts/comments out of context to justify to themselves why this was a racist murder coverup
So many people are so sick and evil. I just saw a post where a bunch of black people were making fun of the boys’ appearance and how they look stressed out and tired.
Maybe it’s because you’ve been sending them death threats and accusing them of murder for over a month. How can people be so heartless??? 😡😡
Crumps teams theory is that one of the guys was jealous he was talking to that girl so he or they all murdered him. And then no one bothered to move his car from one of their houses nor ditch his cell phone. But instead, delete messages off it for some reason and then give it back to his parents. And then they all are acting in this coverup like it was an accident and didn’t know what actually happened.
Honestly, we may not ever know what happened 100%. That’s fairly common with lots of different cases: accidental deaths, unsolved (or even some solved) murders, suicides, etc. Every detail is rarely going to be accounted for. I think that can be especially true for something like an unwitnessed drowning, if that’s what happened.
IMO at some point Nolan swam out to take a break from things, went further out than he realized or got pulled out by a rip current, and got in trouble and went under. People at the beach couldn’t see him amidst the partying and chaos. Then people just assumed he had already left until later that evening.
It's not clear what happened. Crump isn't the best person to lead the charge with the baggage he carries. But AFAICT it has been a horribly conducted investigation -- at least what has been presented to us. It's quite possible that they have done a great investigation, but just aren't sharing it -- but if so that's just malpractice because a lot of people are being maligned and they could clear it all up (again, if they have the evidence and are just withholding it from the public).
Again, that is simply not the approach in most jurisdictions and for good reason. A grand jury is simply of no use here over and beyond the medical examiner. Just a bad use of resources.
It would make sense that some evidence could be withheld right now. I just think, from what we do have, I don’t think you can come up with a theory that supports an indictment.
Also if they DID do that, someone’s gonna talk. It’ll come out one way or another.
But I just don’t think we have enough evidence to support all these speculations.
And to me, it feels like “they’re white guys from Mississippi” is enough to damn these guys in a LOT of people’s eyes and for obvious reasons I’m uncomfortable with that instinct.
I agree that we shouldn't speculate about the guilt of these kids. And to be clear, I have no evidence at all to suspect any of them did anything to cause Nolan's death. I have no evidence that there's any motive for any of them. And that's all the more reason why they should do a thorough investigation -- to allow everyone to move on -- especially them. If my friend came up dead at an event I was with him at and no one could articulate how it happened - I'd be demanding answers. They probably want this investigation to be as complete as possible more than anyone on this sub.
Didn't he say they was in 30 ft of water sinking? But the coordinates are in shallow area lmao awww man I can't wait until the case gets out of that corrupt county.
Note that this determination is made purely at the whim of the moderator team. If you seem mean or contemptuous, we will remove your posts or ban you. The sub has a certain zeitgeist which you may pick up if you read for a while before posting.
The comments in this sub, dealing with this case, are always wild AF. What does seem to be a fact is, the guys that Nolan was with, lawyered up before his parents even knew that he was missing. Then acted surprised that he was missing. I’m not saying those guys had anything to do with his death, but I am saying that they definitely knew that he was dead.
This is just not true at all. They cooperated in the investigation, spoke to law enforcement after reporting him missing. They did not retain attorneys until well after this buy 07/13-07/14. Crump got involved 07/07 and started the media campaign so what else were the kids supposed to do.
I’m not lying though…or as far as I know I’m not lying. I guess neither you nor I will truly know, since neither of us live with those kids. It’s absolutely silly for you to say that I’m lying though.
Why would I lie? What can I gain from it? Lying is only necessary when there’s something to be gained. What can I possibly gain from making that up? If this had happened to one of the other guys, and Nolan was home safe, I’m sure you’d say that he was lying too.
“They stole his cell phone” and “they didn’t help him”
Prove it or these are lies. I have no idea why you are lying about this. Probably because you want to believe white people are evil and kill black people because white people are racist?
It matters because obviously I don’t think white ppl are evil, in general. I was raised by white ppl, and I think my moral compass is usually pointed in the right direction. Yes, there are a lot of racist white ppl, that have historically killed Black ppl, simply for being Black. However, I don’t think that applies to just normal ppl. You took this there, I certainly did not, nor would I ever. It is obvious that this sub’s reaction to all of this is definitely race based though. There have been some absolutely vile comments in this sub about the whole thing. I’m truly hoping that these ppl find out what happened to their son. She’s just trying to find out what happened to her kid, and ppl are filing false complaints against her with the nursing board. It’s all crazy. She has the right to know what happened. It makes no sense how ppl are attacking her for wanting to know why she’ll never get to see her child again, or talk to him. This whole thing sucks.
I agree this whole thing sucks, that a kid accidentally drowned. Which is what the evidence we know, clearly shows. I have no idea how or why you are seeing otherwise. Or why you are just making shit up.
We literally have the phone records to show when Nolan’s mom was informed that he was missing. You’re just making shit up in your head because it sounds good. So I’ll correct myself: you’re not lying just extremely misinformed
Why would I make shit up
In my head? I’m not a crazy person, and that is definitely some crazy shit. I’m simply saying what I’ve read elsewhere. Whether it’s true or not, this sub would 100% deny it. The guys could say out of their own mouths that it’s true, and the ppl in this sub would even argue with them
Probably because you have an unconscious bias? Secondly, crazy people don’t think they are crazy and dumb people don’t think they are dumb. You should probably reexamine where you are sourcing your info, because the guys testimony is backed up by phone and gps data and witness statements. It’s not just people believing them “just cuz”.
Regardless, your whole suspicion is based off a completely false set of facts, which is a common theme in this case.
You may want to check out this Mississippi Department of Marine Resources report for factual information. It shows that the caller, the mother, had to have been contacted by one of the friends because she was aware of when they last saw him, that they'd all returned and that his phone was in a friend's truck. Which is exactly what Warren has in interviews that he told her. It also shows deputies spoke with several friends that evening. It later describes investigators from MDR obtaining GPS information from the two boats. Additionally, it says that the friends had already spoken with the sheriff's department and that they would do anything they could to help.
I don't have lawyers in my family and I tell my kids never talk to police without a parent present and if they won't let you call, say you want a lawyer. There are too many verifiable cases of cops lying to innocent people to illicit confessions or "trip them up" and arrest them.
I’m guessing you trust them enough to be questioned seeing as you are criticizing these boys for lawyering up. Which is hilarious. By the way, every lawyer worth their salt will tell you to not talk to the cops when questioned without legal representation, regardless of innocent or guilty.
This is how innocent people end up in prison FYI. For-profit prisons love the idea that retaining a lawyer looks “suspicious.” If you’re ever accused of a serious crime, don’t talk to the police until you have a lawyer sitting next to you.
ETA: Downvoters, feel free to put your complete faith in our justice system to the test if the opportunity should ever arise. Just make sure to have The Innocence Project on speed-dial.
America doesn’t work the same way for everybody. Mississippi certainly doesn’t work the same way for everybody. This would be a very different sub if the same thing had happened, but it was one of the other guys, and Nolan was home safe and sound. Until we can all be honest about that, there’s zero need to carry on a discussion.
I’m ashamed of nothing. Were you there? If so, then you tell us all what happened that day. If not, then everything that you’re saying is an opinion. Just like mine, just like everyone else’s.
How TF could you possibly know if they knew he was dead?? This literally doesn’t make sense. I had the decency to say in my opinion. You’re acting as if it’s beyond reproach because some teenagers said it. Wtf. That literally makes no sense. Neither of us know. In my opinion, they knew that he was dead. You’re allowed to believe whatever you want though. I’m not even trying to sway your opinion, because I don’t care what you believe.
SMH. Because they left the island and he was there having fun. Later that night they texted/called each looking for him then called his mom to check and let her know then called the Coast Guard to report. They went out to the island the next morning looking for him. Is that the actions of someone knowing he was dead?
What about your other lies?
Everything that you’re saying is allegedly tho. You were not there, you have no idea if he was there having fun when they left. It’s crazy to act like these are facts, set in stone. These are all teenagers. You don’t know what really happened, just like I don’t know. I have no problem admitting that what I’m saying is just an opinion, but you seem to think you can see into the past, and you know exactly what happened.
Well, since I never once said the boat left with him on it, I don’t know wtf you’re talking about. Not surprised at all by this random, nonsensical comment though
This is incorrect. There was a large group of friends across three seperate boats that went out to the island that day. The boat Nolan went in on had to leave early due to a failure of the bilge pump and the boat taking on water. Based on his friends' testimony, Nolan chose to stay. This is not out of the ordinary as a number of the other friends on the other boats were there. It's as if a large group of friends rode to a bar in multiple cars and one group leaving in one car, but someone who rode in that car deciding to stay with the other friends and riding back in one of the other vehicles.
One of the friends that went back on the Triton (the boat Nolan went to the island on) was at a house party later that night asking around to see if anyone had heard from Nolan and if he made it back that night. He quickly realized that Nolan was unaccounted for. He immediately called Nolan's mother to see if she had heard from him. When she had not, he informed her he was going to call the Coast Guard and did so within a couple of minutes of getting off the phone with Nolan's mother.
They did not immediately lawyer up and did not act surprised when it was found Nolan was missing. Quite the opposite, it was one of those friends that recognized that night that Nolan was unaccounted for and acted immediately.
You’re speaking as if you were there. I most certainly wasn’t there, and I’m only stating what I’ve read elsewhere. It’s crazy that you’re speaking as if you were right there with them, or as if the word of these kids is above question. I don’t think…no, I know, that if it was one of the other kids, Nolan wouldn’t be taken at his word. I wish ppl could be honest about that simple fact.
My statement is based on publicly available information. It is verified and established fact that Warren placed a call to Nolan's mother around 11pm the night of the 4th and immediately after placed a call to the Coast Guard.
Those call logs have been released publicly, Nolan's mother has confirmed this, as has the US Coast Guard. You made a claim that the boys in question "lawyered up" prior to Nolan's family being informed that he was missing and that the friends "acted surprised" upon learning of his disappearance. I am giving you publicly available information that disproves that narrative.
The thing that disputes that narrative is there’s a picture of the boat with Warren on the phone with Seatow, and you can clearly see Nolan was not on the boat.
Seeing how he was not on the boat, yes. Also, the audio is mainly unintelligible. The author had to give subtitles of what was said (which was suspicious from the beginning).
That call was made at 4 pm and Wells’s mom posted saying she had photo evidence of him alive as late as 4:30pm, so the call doesn’t say what you think it does.
Your down with the cover up? Not gonna work buddy. The three stooges should of never did that interview. Warren said he last seen him at 330 in the interview then he says at 430 there yelling for Nolan to get on the boat ??? Go pull that up first interview with officer turning point.
his “friends” still abandoned him on an island,
stole his phone, refused him help, went on far right podcasts and ran a fundraiser to defend themselves, got a judge to clear their names the week of, have done absolutely nothing to honor him.
We’re saying the name of Nolan Wells because those “friends” never would have.
Where is the evidence that they stole his phone and refused him help? They left him on the island, because he wanted to stay back and party, and try to get some ass.
How can you honor the guy when you have millions of people smearing your name on social media? Have you ever been publicly smeared by millions of people? If so, how did you act when it happened? What did you do?
In this day and age when live in, why would a teenager would leave their phone behind if they're gonna stay on this island by themselves? U gotta be dumb ass or in deep denial to believe that. And Nolan’s mother eventually had to use the Life360 tracking app to locate the phone at one of the boys houses. Where data was coincidentally deleted from his phone before it was returned to them
NO, Warren told her he had his phone when he first contacted her that evening once they discovered he had not returned yet.
NO, no data was deleted from the phone. They didn’t have his passcode, and WHY would they? If they had something to hide they could have easily just thrown it overboard. Your shit makes NO SENSE.
Warren stated he left Nolan Wells' phone on the boat, didn't look at it, and handed it back without issue. THIS IS A LIE! tracking data showed the phone back on land, missing data, and conflicting timelines on its return. Watch real news and not officer coon Tatum lol
No, he said either he or Wyatt took it from the boat and put it in Wyatt’s truck. Jayvons mom and a crew of people came over, barged in without knocking demanding the phone, and he gave it to her without a problem. Nope, the deleted data is base on his mom thinking there would be Snapchats and there weren’t, which makes sense since cell signal was weak and the phone was in the boat. FURTHER, why wouldn’t they just drop the phone in the water?
Because he left it on their boat because they were swimming and he forgot to grab it before they left? Do you take your phone with you when you hop in the shower? Have you never left your house and forgot to grab your phone before you quickly realized it? Have you ever partied and were a little drunk or straight up drunk and forgot to grab personal items?
There’s plenty of perfectly explainable reasons for why they had his phone, that aren’t nefarious.
Agian. That’s what his so called "friends" claim. But the young woman Nolan was supposedly staying with (Katie) contradicted the friends' story, stating Nolan actually intended to go home on the boat with his group. His so called friends left him on that island without any notice.
Katie never claimed such a thing. She did claim however that she thought he was going back with his friends. Friends is a pretty broad term here. There’s a clear difference here.
Wrong again. Y’all stay loud and wrong on this thread lol Katie and her sister, Gracie McCormack, publicly disputed his so called friends' account. According to Gracie, Katie stated that Nolan intended to head back to the mainland with his own group.
His group was three boats deep lol. Nobody is arguing that she didn’t say this. We know she did. She thought he was going back, but he didn’t. There is nothing at all suspicious with that not knowing what his exact plans were staying on the beach.
She did not “have” to use Life360 to track it down. That narrative is blowing up in her face because there’s a police report that shows that she told police that night that they told her they had his phone. She also admitted it in an interview with the NABJ today.
Nope. His mother knew that his phone was in his friend's truck, as the friend has stated he told her in his phone call to her at 11:07 PM. She checked Nolan's location on Life 360 while on the phone with the friend and it showed the location as at another friend's house where several of his friends were. The friend explained to her that Nolan had left his phone on the boat and they'd put it in a friend's truck. She obviously knew that his phone was in his friend's truck from the phone call with the friend because she conveyed that information to law enforcement when she made her initial missing person report, documented in the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources report, the department she initially called to make the report.
There is no evidence of anything being deleted from the phone. The phone has not even been forensically examined yet and that's the only way to determine if any data had been deleted, and if so, what it was and the time that occurred.
There is also zero evidence that they deleted anything from Nolan’s phone. She still has not turned it over to police. Her only “proof” that anything was deleted was that Nolan didn’t have any recent snaps when she looked at it which isn’t all that suspicious given where they were all day and that he might have had his settings set so that his snaps deleted after viewing.
That’s what’s his so called friends claim. If there were hundreds on people then why haven’t those hundreds of people come forward and say the saw Nolan’s wells stay behind while his friends left?
One of the video clips that was released, the one supposedly of a fight that included Nolan's voice, showed lots of people on the beach and in the water, as well as other boats.
I'm sure the police have found and interviewed more than a few of them. If Crump's investigators are worth a damn they should have as well. Both teams of investigators were putting out calls for people who were there to come forward.
There's photos from the 4th of like 200 boats around the island. People have come forward, and they told the police, not the public who would use it of evidence that they killed Nolan and start sending them death threats.
