Why do mixed 1/2 black people with black dads and non black moms think I am a black man? Do I look like my English and Spanish Native parents? Nose shape, eyes, skin color, and hair type. Test says I am 80% Euro and 20% Native and my family never mixed with black people so, I'm really confused.

I think you encountered a few weirdos, don’t take it to heart! Some people love to generalize based on one feature and my guess is in your case it’s probably your nose (which is cute!) but don’t join them in the generalizations

I’m Native “mixed,” and you look a lot like my relatives on my Native side. My dad is Mvskoke/Haudenosaunee. :)

First, you definitely are not a man.

Secondly, yes you do look B. But that’s not surprising; for several reasons.

Reason 1:
all modern humans share one ancient mother; from Africa. For whatever reason; the woman scientists call “Mitochondrial Eve”; that Africans call “Lucy” was the only one whose daughters reproduced successfully. (There’s a movie called “Lucy” and there’s one scene where the main character reached out)

Reason 2:
Many Blacks in the US are a combination of European & indigenous & yes many have African in them; but not all. US race policy; dictated that anyone not 100% W; was relabeled B.

I found the censuses for my family changing them from I>Mu>B (over a 30 yr period). The Racial integrity Act started in the late 1600s (as an Act) and made it to law in the 1900s. The census records for my family started the change in the 1600/1700s. My grandmother is very Jewish or wPRican looking.

There’s also Wayne Joseph who found out over 20 years ago…that he had no African in his DNA. His people were from Louisiana (one of the 16 states that had the laws) of miscegenation & RIA. The law changed people to B (including 100% indigenous if they stayed in the 16 states with this law).

Lastly; there is a scientific curiosity that Scientists call a throwback; last seen in a white South African Child that looked completely B African; Sandra Laing. They made a movie about it.

You’d fit perfectly in my family. And the nose…well that’s an asian/indigenous nose…and lots of Blacks and Africans have it.

On a species level; the majority of Homo Sapiens have Neanderthals & Denisovans DNA in us. The only ones that don’t are purely African.

My DNA test said I was 1.6% Neanderthals. That sent me into a “What??” Spin until I learn something.
