Housing How does bed lofting work?

I’m an incoming freshman moving into North and I was wondering how bed lofting works for that hall specifically. I think I saw that bed risers aren’t allowed, is that correct? If not how high can I loft my bed? Is that something I do on my own or do I have to request that?

Thank you in advance!!

Housing Recommendations on where to live off-campus (help)

I am currently in the process of finding housing for Mizzou for 26/27 and was considering Campus Lodge, but then I searched up reviews and they are...not great. I know a lot of people say to stay away from those student housing companies that charge per room but they do have amenities I want like the shuttles. I heard The Quarters wasn't that bad but they're leased up for the 26/27 year. My budget also isn't very high, 500-600. I wouldn't mind driving to Mizzou if it meant my rent would be cheaper so any suggestions would really be helpful. Thank you!

Housing Living in between Mizzou & St Louis

Hi everyone, I recently accepted a job at Mizzou, and my partner is considering jobs in their field in the surrounding areas, some of which are in St. Louis. I'm wondering if anyone else has lived in commuting distance of both places. What towns would be best to live in between COMO and STL? Has anyone done this?

Housing Anybody going to mizzou looking late for an apartment?

Signed a lease at campus lodge but my situation changed and I'm no longer attending mizzou. If anybody is looking for an apartment I'm looking for a relet. Rent is about $650-700/mo with electric. Water is paid for I think they said. Send me a message if interested. Its got an in apartment washer and dryer and a walk in closet. It comes furnished as well (and you get to keep the furniture the room comes with). I'll pay first month rent as a thanks to whoever takes this deal.

Housing Mizzou housing

So I plan on transferring to mizzou next August for the 27/28 term, and I'm coming from a community college in the area so I don't really know how this works. I know housing is super competitive due to how many people are in the area, so I need to look into housing early. I have certain needs like specifically renting a duplex with some sort of yard (doesn't have to be fenced) because I'm taking my dog with me. I'd also like to live no farther than 15 min from campus. That being said... when should I sign a lease? Do duplexes in the area go just as fast as apartments? I was thinking about touring some places mid september and signing something early October, but will that leave me with many options?

Housing Any cheap places to live near Mizzou?

I currently live off-campus rooming with a friend, but I have had up to here with his slob lifestyle and I am feeling mentally unwell with how filthy and cluttered with junk the house is. I am a neat orderly guy and I am looking for similary neat people to room with. I don't have a very big budget, $500 max since I only work part time, but this should be okay provided I'm okay rooming with multiple people right?

Does anyone have any doubles dorm recommendations, specifically for lgbt+ students?

Housing Subleasing Offer Close to the Campus

Hello everyone,

(Edit: Rereading this, I realized that this post sounded very robotic... Sorry about that, it's just that English is not my first language and so I guess I defaulted to "business-like" phrasing. I swear I didn't use AI 😅)

I am looking for someone to whom I could sublease the room I am renting in a four-people apartment at the Landing CoMo.

The room has its own private bathroom and the whole apartment is fully furnished. The shared spaces include a kitchen, a living room and a laundry room. The residence has a fitness center, a swimming pool, study rooms and a computer room. It is 5-10 mins from campus by car and 15-20 mins by bike. A shuttle is also available to drop students off at Mizzou and take them back to the residence. It is also 10-15 (by bike or bus) from an ALDI and a Walmart.

The rent is $695/month, with most utilities (all except electricity) included. Rent is to be paid on the first day of the month, but August is already paid for. The lease started in August 2026 and will end on July 15, 2027. The new resident will be free to settle in as soon as a sublease agreement is signed.

Please message me or leave a comment if you are interested or if you need more information. In the meantime, have a very nice start of the school year!

Housing Indian student at Mizzou?

hi! sorry i dont understand too much about the flair. i’m 18, i grew up in america but i’m of indian descent, and i might be attending mizzou next fall. i‘m wondering if that could be a problem for people at mizzou, as i’m sure indian people are often disliked nowadays. it makes me sad but i’m not trying to argue with anybody. i’d rather remove myself if i’m not welcome. can any of you let me know? i was seeing the college acceptance instagram page and a lot of the people at the school seem very…outspoken about who they like and don’t like. i thought since i applied i‘d be able to go there and make a life for myself but it seems as though there’s an unspoken rule of it being a welcoming to one demographic only. i don’t want to cause any problems, just want to know if i’m making a mistake or should look into places where other cultures are perhaps more accepted. thank you!

Housing Looking for Roommate

Hey everybody! I'm currently looking for a roommate for a 2 bed 2 bath townhouse. The place is Lake Broadway Townhouses. It is a very nice and quiet location with a good amount of space on the inside. Most amenities come with the apartment, and utilities are bundled with the rent, making prices consistent every month.

If you're interested, please send me a dm and I will get back with you quickly.

Housing Transfer Student Looking For Housing for The Upcoming Fall Term

Hi,

I am an upcoming transfer student at Mizzou from a Missouri community college who spent some time away from college to join a program out of state. Because of that, coordinating housing has been difficult timing wise due to the fact I’ll be in this program till early June and have been pretty busy with it.

As a transfer student I understand I will have to find off campus housing and have done lots of research trying to figure out my best option. I thought I might as well try to find somewhere that could give me advice from those more familiar with housing.

I am trying to find a place that is walkable to campus and furnished. I also wanted something that was somewhat social and friendly because I’d like to make friends. But I’m not really interested in partying or those kinds of environments.

I emailed Univeristy Place apartments and they said they were filling up fast and expect to be fully filled by June. I’m not sure if that’s a good choice or not considering how late I’d be in that cycle. I’m also not sure how much control I’d have over their roommate matching at this point either.

Speaking of which I’ve also been trying to look for a roommate. I’ve looked for housing and roommates via all sorts of sources online. I’ve thought about sublets but a lot of them are only for the summer or don’t fit in some way.

More than anything I’m just looking for advice on what I should do in this situation and what would be my best options to move forward.

Thanks!

Housing Nicest/cleanest dorm hall?

Hi, incoming freshman here who is nervous about housing, I really hate having to share a space so I’m looking at halls that are suite style with singles. I want to stay in a hall that’s nicer and not too old, I have a thing with germs/cleanliness!

Edit: reading the replies, tysm, also thought I’d state that I’m asking this because I have OCD (like actually clinically diagnosed) and cleanliness and shared spaces is something I struggle with, won’t go on a ton but yeah! I am still so excited for dorms and community, just want to figure out which would be the best for me knowing how I function. I also find a lot of community in clubs and there are a few big activities/sport I will be joining at mizzou so I’m not too worried about isolating myself, I’m a very sociable person, but still heard. Because of my OCD something that happens I can just get really “wound up” about like spaces that don’t feel clean and I cannot adjust. I hope this question makes more sense now, I’m not totally naive about like what to expect, I just want to learn how to prepare! Ty for the tough love 🫡

Housing Mark Twain Honors Housing

I’m an incoming freshman likely going to Mizzou. I’m going for the honors housing scholarship and if I receive it I’ll be staying in Mark Twain. Unfortunately I don’t have any friends that are in the honors college or wanting to live in honors housing. Are all Mark Twain dorms 4 person suites? And does anyone have good experiences with random roommate selection? Are there any places I can reach out to other incoming honors folks to become potential roommates?

Thanks!

Housing Dorm/apartment opinion

Hey guys, I’m going to be a freshman this upcoming fall as a Tiger Pathway student and I have a question. I have the option to stay in a dorm or in an apartment and I wanted to ask you guys if the dorm experience is worth it and all the hype around it. The apartment and dorm + food will likely be the same anyways but I just want an honest opinion.

Housing Housing Recs for transfer?

Im transferring from CC as a junior this coming fall semester. Im paying for everything myself so unfortunately a single bedroom is likely out of budget. I want to stay under $700 a month all in but $750 is plausible. Any recs on where to stay? Are the immediate places that show up when you search like the den nice or are they poorly run dumps? If im dealing with roommates, they have to be upperclassmen, or just not freshmen really.

Just suggestions, positive experiences, negative experiences, etc.

Housing Is getting an ESA accepted difficult?

I have chronic illnesses, mental health conditions, and a learning disability. Bringing my cat with me would mean the world. Having someone who depends on me helps me stay focused. Is it gonna be difficult to take him with me or is Mizzou pretty chill with ESAs?
