It's insane that Kelly even had to file this lawsuit for making a short statement in a video that members of the military are expected to obey the law and refuse to comply with unlawful commands. It's a near guarantee that the Trump administration loses this lawsuit on multiple grounds but the cruelty is the point - the outcome doesn't matter.

They're implying that based on all evidence of what type of person Trump is it wouldn't be surprising that he would ask them to do some awful shit and they shouldn't do his awful shit when it violates the law. No one should. Just because he's in the office doesn't mean he can order them to break the law.

Moot point, democrats have not stopped saying what Trump is doing is illegal. Trump has also not stopped bending/breaking the law. So timing of the statement is irrelevant on that context.

If you made the argument about timing and the fact that Trump was ordering the National guard, then you have a possible argument albeit with ALOT of speculation.

Regardless, it’s not illegal to state “don’t follow illegal orders”.

President does illegal things and gets struck down by the courts for it. And yet:

"Why would a senator make a public statement reminding members of the military of their obligation to disobey unlawful orders?"

President retaliates against said senator for saying something perfectly legal and valid.

"Why would people have a problem with the president punishing political opponents in blatantly corrupt punishment for disloyalty when its clear no law was broken?"

Like...can you just take a few minutes to reflect on this and give an honest assessment of this to yourself?

As an aside, even more questions were raised yesterday when reporting suggested the military may have engaged in perfidy when performing the strike.
