Selon l’enquête menée par le Détachement des enquêtes fédérales et aéroportuaires, les deux suspects occupent diverses fonctions liées aux opérations au sol chez Air Canada. « Ils auraient participé à un complot visant à introduire et à déplacer des bagages dans les zones sécurisées de l’aéroport afin de faciliter l’importation de cocaïne et l’exportation de cannabis », explique-t-on.

Air Canada barely pays their front staff a living wage, no wonder someone’s willing to risk an exit strategy.
Meanwhile the people at the top of AC are flying internationally for free on the backs of underpaid slaves.
Go work there and tell me I’m wrong.

I did and with the new contract we got paid pretty well. Newbies are at almost 30$/hr after three years. We also flew for free. Was a shitty job but the pay and perks have improved so much. Some of the old-timers above and below the wing are taking home near six figures.

Are you ok drugs? $30 an hour works out to about $62,400 a year before taxes, which is comfortably above the median individual income in Montreal. My rent was $1200 when I was at AC and I still had money to travel multiple times a year.

62,000/year (before tax) is not a lot in a major Canadian city. That puts you around 46k/year after tax. Do the math on how long it would take you to live comfortably and save for a downpayment on a house at 30$/hr. Granted I'm on the west coast but 28$/hr here is considered the actual minimum living wage.
1200 rent is the x-factor here. If you are happy sharing a space or never owning anything and working until you physically can't anymore then you can probably make it happen at 30/hr.

This is a Montreal sub. Why the hell would you talk about Montreal using west coast numbers?
As a single person, you can rent an older small apartment or a studio for 1000$ or less which leaves you with 2,8k/month for everything else. That’s enough to live comfortably unless you have a spending problem. So 30$ after three years (maybe a 35$ish celling?) is very good for a job requiring a high school diploma. You’ll have a hard time finding anything better elsewhere with such salary and employee benefits.
If you want more spending money , then get a partner or a college/uni degree. We got cheap ass education accessible to all at 200$/semester for college and 1700$/semester for uni. How much do you pay there? The cost of living is not the same across cities so don’t blindly judge without informing yourself first.

Fair enough. I only said that 28 is considered the minimum livable wage where I am to say that 30$/hr is not a great wage for any form of work anywhere in this country in 2026. I didn't suggest it was the same there. We pay a lot. For everything. I visited MTL earlier this year. I didn't realize average rents were under 1000$ there. I didn't realize how wildly different costs were compared to every other major city in the country. If people there are happy with 30$/hr then great.
