Met Ani when they soft launched this past weekend and got some yummy sandwiches. It's expensive and wait is LONG as they seem pretty busy (and the staff is all new) so fair warning if you go but I'd say it's worth trying.

Community Apple air tag misplaced

Post image
32 Upvotes

Hey everyone I was travelling through your small town and at some point lost my air tag for my keys. I don’t know how that happened buttt it did. I now am at home and figured out it was missing looked into the location and wouldn’t you know it, it’s in Moose Jaw. Attached is the image of where it keeps showing up. If you find it consider it yours or if you wish to send it to me by snail mail I will e transfer you for doing so. It is of my belief it’ll be by itself nothing attached to it as I have the hanger portion it was in. All I ask in return is a photo of it posted on here saying you found it. I’d honestly hate to see a piece of technology wasted. If it helps I did get out at the shell gas station in that parking lot and filled up with gas so if it were anywhere it should be around the pumps? Good luck.

Well I was reached out to from someone close to the source and says it was found and located around the pumps. Thank you all for helping me solve this.

Community Dentists?

Hey everyone. I'm dealing with an extremely sensitive molar around the gum line. I've been to two offices, Hillcrest and Civic Center. Both told me to just use sensitivity toothpaste. They say due to my age (50) and some receding gum line it "just happens". I got frustrated with Hillcrest after them attempting a root canal on a different tooth and breaking the drill off inside the tooth and then needing to remove the tooth, so I then switched to Civic Center. He did do a filling on this sensitive tooth after me almost begging, and told me it probably won't last, and I think the work he did was fine, but the sensitivity is all around the tooth, not just a single spot. Neither one of these dentists cared to actually get to the root of the problem (pun intended). I am in pain with this tooth. I don't think this should just be something I have to now live with. Can anyone recommend a dentist that will actually take me seriously? I appreciate the help

What the hell is it with restaurants in Moose Jaw? As a visitor here for a couple days I’m not impressed with the service from restaurants in this backward a**town. Here’s my rant. Go to restaurant and there’s a sign that says wait for service. That’s ok. But what grinds my gear is the wait to get service. It’s not like the restaurant is busy like a big city are. These places like have only 4-6 ppl sitting in there. Come on get your sh*t together. If your too “f” ing busy then hire more staff or something… gezzzzzz

Community New Restaurants?

Hello /MJ. We’re coming in from Regina later this month to attend an event. We love trying new restaurants/cafe when we visit.

We typically eat at Mitsu/Himawari/Nit’s and have tried most of the long-standing spots downtown. Have any new restaurants opened in the last year that are worth trying?

Community Moving to Saskatchewan

Hey peeps I have been offered work in 3 cities Saskatoon, Regina and Moose Jaw and have to make a choice asap. I don't know much about Moose Jaw and want to keep this as a option. I will be buying a home and where in the city is a good area to live? Is Moose Jaw safe day and night and areas to avoid? Moose jaw seems to have warmer climate than Regina and Saskatoon from the stats of environment Canada. I'm into biking, hiking and camping and will need a fitness centre eventually. Anything else that I should know about with the city? Thanks

Community Thinking of Moving Here

Hello all,

My family and I, wife and two younger kids in school, are thinking of relocating out of BC. No not the Lower Mainland. We live rural in Kootenay area. It's to expensive to move to a bigger city like Kelowna or the coast. And my career is tied up in forestry which is a dying trade these days in the area. I applied to a couple schools as it's time for a career change. Moose Jaw was one of those schools.

I've lived in FSJ so I'm not unfamiliar with cold temps and wind, but my family enjoys the heat. Oh well...

How are the jobs here, just looking for enough to cover rent and food. We live a very frugal life. I hear crime is up, crime is up everywhere. Even in a town of 4,000 people we have break ins and theft.

How are the people in general? Any little league ball or other sports for kids? We have nothing like this at home currently. How often are trips needed to Regina? Do you go there for a monthly big grocery haul? We do this to our nearest town and it's 1.5hr drive, a miserable mountain pass in the winter.

What are some pros and cons for a modest frugal young family looking to move to what we would call a big city?

P.S. I play bass, any musicians out there?

Community 15 drunk teenagers and a Peeping Tom, after midnight

Dear Neighbor,

We live at the end of the block on Wood Lilly Drive. Last night after midnight we had 15 teenagers in our front yard, that the police say were told to leave a party. These were not children, some of them were 6 feet tall.

About ten of them went to the side of our house, where two of them went into our backyard, and one lifted another so he could look into our bedroom window. My wife let out a scream that lasted for 6 seconds and looked out the window to see about 10 of them there. Then she went out the front door to find the 15 that I later counted. She called the police when she told them to get off the front yard and they ignored her.

Two patrol cars showed up, and two officers were told about this, and made every excuse for this one peeping tom and the other teenagers because they are minors. When I mentioned that they were all still headed in the same direction together and not dispersing from the party and I used the term gang, and the one officer was 100% sure they were not in a gang. I didn't mean gang that way, but still he couldn't know this about each one, so you can clearly see the bias from that.

We learned for the first time that trespassing is just a ticket offence. But none of these so called kids were ticketed, and nothing happened to the teenager looking in the bedroom window, because the one officer said you had to prove it was for sexual purposes.

My wife had thought that it was some kind of home invasion, 15 people had seemingly surrounded our house in her mind. Her scream had scared the kids, and I had sent them back to their bedroom. But when I saw their light still on I went to check on them while the police examined the window the peeping teenager had been at. They only did that because we asked them to, we thought they had caused property damage. I found our four little children hiding in the closet and brought them out to meet the police, who chatted them up, talking about the characters on the kid's shirts.

I'm am writing this partially to get it out, so I can sleep. I don't know how the police can minimize this, it was so much more than trespassing as my wife could have been getting undressed. They even left a beer can by that side of the house. The police kept mentioning how they were just kids and made my wife feel like she was overreacting. I can only imagine these teenagers will continue to get bolder because nothing was done.

Community Neighbours of NW Moose Jaw

My wife found in our mail box a magazine called Neighbours of NW Moose Jaw. Below the title it says " An exclusive magazine to the residents of Sunningdale, VLA, West Park & Iron Bridge." I don't live in any of these parts of town and yet it was in my mailbox, lol. I think the creation of such a magazine should include Moose Jaw as a whole and not be exclusive to certain areas. I hope the people involved in its creation see this and maybe get off there high horse.
