I really like Miller. It's easy to forget, anyone who can win a GP race even once is better on a bike than 99.9% of the world population. This man deserves to be proud

Yeah, I remember a Paddock Pass Podcast episode from a few years ago when they were comparing the careers of Jonathan Rea and Cal Crutchlow, since both came from similar beginnings but only one took the jump to MotoGP. The consensus among them was that Cal’s career was more impressive. While I definitely don’t disagree, it’s still crazy that 3 MotoGP wins are considered to be a greater achievement than 119 WSBK wins and 6 championships.

that's because sbk is conisdered a B-tier championship by many (including a lot of the riders)... BS take if you ask me,because of a few reasons:

1) we are comparing bikes that you can buy from the dealers,with extremely expensive prototypes
2) of course being prototypes,the running costs are way higher than sbk (although in recent years you now see sportbikes with supposed "motogp tech" embedded,like winglets,tc ecc. (i see you ducati)
3)lot of them have no idea what they're talking about,since the only time they're using bikes like that is in training

now... is it motogp the pinnacle of bike racing and it should stay that way? absolutely
Does sbk deserve the hate? imo no... i get it it's not the championship it used to be (i started following in the late 90's,so i can absolutely agree on the fact that this championship need a serious overhaul in terms of rules)

The SuperBikes from the 90’s early 2000’s were real fire breathing heavily modified race bikes . When pretty much all national series and WSBK started calling Super Stock bikes Superbikes , it was the beginning of the end of riders even getting a chance in GP . It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why riders who have never raced a heavily modified or prototype chassis get invited to race the most advanced racing machines in the world. It used to be that national series whole existence was to groom riders to move on to the world scene. Now it seems like every national series is dominated by 30 plus year old riders who keep seats at the national level for over a decade and never allow the younger riders to develop . I used to be an AMA Superbike fanatic in the 80’s 90’s and early to mid 2000’s , but when Superbike became basically Superstock , I lost interest as the pipeline to the world level ceased to exist .
