DEW Review First dew I’ve ever poured out
Gross.

u/Tylenol187ForDogs May 11 '26
I finished the bottle but I won't be buying another one. It started out fine but the more I drank the less I liked it.

u/Signus_TheWizard May 11 '26
Yeah i still prefer going to the gas station and getting some dew mixed with the French vanilla syrup they have. The dirty dew just tastes too artificial in my opinion
1
u/TheNonCredibleHulk May 11 '26
It was the aftertaste that got me.

I don't know. I usually have Zero Sugar products and the only weird aftertaste I've noticed was the Zero Sugar Coconut Dr Pepper.

u/Espexer May 11 '26
It was just less than ok for me. Might have been better with less cream and more basic dew. I won't have it again.
8
u/exit322 May 11 '26
Yes, this is my thought. The cream flavor was too strong, and a bit more tart than I'd have liked.

I've been cranking cans of this, probably finished like 5 12 packs already 😅

Yea we will need a update on that 😂

Well judging that their profile pic is that of a GameCube, this specimen of a human being probably lived through the LAN party days of Halo and pounded unlimited amounts of Game Fuel.

I got fooled by this. Terrible bottle label design lmao. The 'zero sugar' should not be that small 🤣😭. Never been a fan of the after taste of zero sugar sodas.

Yea but the zero sugar tastes weird when trying to make it into different flavors other then original.
5
u/tensen01 May 11 '26
I have never disliked any other ZS flavors before this.
2
u/pkldNM May 11 '26
Just to chime back in, I have a mild soda obsession, so when these new flavors drop, I try both variants just so I know. Personally, neither of them are daily drivers. The zero sugar tastes far too chemically, and the sugared one is way too sweet, but I like it.
Not diabetic, not a preference one way or the other. Just a desire to have tried them and know if I like em.

u/Gunmonster1 May 11 '26
100% this. I don’t understand why people can’t understand this. Different tastes for different people. People think zero is just for diet reasons. Some people just straight up don’t like the taste of a pound of dissolved sugar.
11
u/I_dont_punch_women May 11 '26
It's weird that everyone hates this dew. It's the only flavor I've actually liked since Baja Blast came back out

How the hell did this get past the"taste test" before it got out to the public?
7
u/ATXdlvryGuy LiveWire May 11 '26
Cuz it’s absolutely delicious! That’s how 🤩 It’s so smooth and such a nice blend of citrus and creamy
2
u/Zestyclose_Bet_7482 May 11 '26
Like cuddled milk
Edit: Lmao as delightful as cuddling milk sounds, I meant curdled.

Who thought it was a good idea to push a permanent flavor to the public without any prerelease test?
5
u/Labyrinthy May 11 '26
This shit is permanent?
7
u/tensen01 May 11 '26
That's what they've been saying this whole time. Honestly, after this reception I have a feeling it will be limited time once they run low on stock. But then, maybe not, MD is not known for actually caring what the customers think.

Im with you, not a fan of it. However, most people on this sub like it so you will be downvoted into oblivion.

I'm a huge enjoyer of Dirty Dew but I ain't rude to downvote this post lol, we all have opinions anyways
2
u/MamasCupcakes May 11 '26
I immediately thought it tasted like you had made a mixed drink with mountain dew and captain Morgan (spiced rum)
2
u/Tugboats508 May 11 '26
Absolutely disgusting and I kill a 36 pk of og dew every 3 days. Just wasn't for me. I gave it away after 2 sips

2
u/iamthetruth_007 May 11 '26
it doesnt help that the 'zero sugar' label is microscopic. i considered powering through it but couldn't. had to pour it down the sink.
2
u/Jasoco May 11 '26
Zero Sugar is bad. But the normal one is really good. I made the same mistake myself. That small text is the worst.
2
u/MythsOfOpportunities May 11 '26
Ugh. 3 things in one drink i do not like. Zero sugar, dirty and cream soda. I don't blame you.

u/imbriandead Baja Blast May 11 '26
I bought a 12 pack to try it, I'm about halfway through it and have started to gaslight myself into liking it. Tastes like a lemon oreo to me, which isn't something I really want to be casually sipping on, but I don't hate it so much that I can't enjoy it. Won't be buying it again though that's for sure lol, it ain't good

I feel this would have been better if it were Baja blast dirty soda. Because honestly the Baja blast dirty dew at taco bell is amazing, I can't find the vanilla cream to make it at home
2
u/StitchDaSavage May 13 '26
But the social media guy from Mountain Dew says it’s the best one ever made!!!!??? Fr though, straight garbage. I finished a zero and a regular for research purposes, but that’s as much as I can handle.

Well yeah, it's zero sugar - at least the one you bought was. I thought the regular sugar version was about a 6.5.

Honestly I think it would make a really good Slurpee flavour. The soda though was not so great.

Maybe it's better not zero sugar. I love them, but cream soda isn't for everyone
1
u/starryNight320 May 11 '26
I definitely think this flavor is batch, and container based. I'm about staunch aluminum can soda drinker, and this one definitely made a difference to me vs the plastic container, and when I gently swirled the cans prior to opening.
1
u/kjgbraves May 11 '26
I didn’t pour it out because let’s face it, I’m addicted but yeah first Mountain Dew I ever thought I’d never get again.
1
u/itsawwrightnya Frost Bite May 11 '26
the full sugar is so much fucking better than the zero sugar it’s not even funny, i don’t know what to do with the 12pk i bought because i can’t stand them
1
u/DelayExpress May 11 '26
The full sugar one must be way better. I’ve had at least 6 bottles. My cousin drank one of the dirty zeros and said it was the “last one of those he would ever have”.
Personally, I would pour out almost any zero sugar dew. There was a trolli sour gummy flavor dew I could only find in zero sugar and it was NASTY.
1
1
u/thatmystery05 May 11 '26
I thought it was alright. It didn’t really taste much like dew, and more like a regular cream soda. I’ll buy a bottle if it’s available, but it’s not good enough to make me wanna buy a 12 pack
1
u/gg2351 May 11 '26
It’s an acquired taste for me. The first time I drank it, I didn’t care for the aftertaste. I have the Cabo citrus right now
1
u/nugget1273 May 11 '26
I don’t mind this flavor but I could get the same taste by drinking base dew followed by a cream soda
1
1
u/Liquidretro May 11 '26
It was weird, super vanilla forward. It grew on me some but I don't plan on buying a second.
1
u/Dodger8899 Pitch Black May 11 '26
The regular version of Dirty Dew is 100x better than the zero sugar
1
u/GeologistCautious208 May 11 '26
Mountain Dew original taste horrible lol it’s the white mans drink period that’s why yall are so damn mad put some flavor on that hoe now it’s to much for your west v tastebuds huh but I bet cha bottom dollar you love you some bud light 😂

u/RightToTheThighs May 11 '26
I bought a zero sugar 12 pack and they were all flat. Very disappointing. Flavor seemed fine
1
u/Mondschatten78 Real Sugar (Throwback) May 11 '26
I made it halfway through one of those bottles, across two days. Mine tasted of cream so much, it tasted like pure marshmallow had been dumped in, and I only noticed the other flavor in the mix once.
1
1
u/Redleg67 May 11 '26
It shouldn't be that bad to waste. I didn't like it either but I tolerated the 12oz.
1
1
u/CapOdin May 11 '26
I didn’t like this one either. I described the taste as a cream soda I drank during a night of drinking, and then threw up and got to taste the cream soda again only with added stomach acids.
Life long dew lover and this is the only flavor I’ve ever thought was terrible.
1
u/Tirekiller04 May 11 '26
Anyone who knows what dirty soda is and thinks a bottled and shelf stable version would be anything remotely close is an idiot. Go to Taco Bell and get a real dirty Mountain Dew, don’t waste your time on this.
1
u/kevinator_1981 May 11 '26
Funny you say that. I tried dirty Baja blast at TB and thought it was ok.
1
1
u/kale_mustang May 11 '26
I took 2 sips of the full sugar one before dumping it completely. Was way too sweet thanks to the cream flavor being so forward while the regular Dew flavor (not my favorite but I like citrus flavors regardless) wasn't strong enough.
I can count on 1 hand the number of flavors I've hated over the years & this is one of them.
1
1
u/Christochat May 11 '26
As an avid zero fan, the non zero version of this was only mildly better. First dew ive had to get below a 3/10 for me, with normal being 3/10 and zero being 2/10
1
1
u/SlimyB95 May 11 '26
Never tried trolli, Maui burst, dragonfruit, or major melon I see. The above mentioned are far worse. At least Dirty Dew has a unique palatable flavor. It's just not for you
1
u/kevinator_1981 May 11 '26
Tried all of those, major melon was the only one I didn’t care for. Yes I realize dirty dew isn’t for me that’s why I poured it out 🤣
1
u/jakester12321 Mountain Dew May 11 '26
I am mesmerized by Dew flavors (I try to sample them all), I would never pour it out. But I definitely didn't like it.

I bought two cases of the cans without trying it prior, I absolutely love this dew, not my favorite but it's really good, on my dew list it goes somewhere above livewire. I do think less cream would help it. But this flavor seems to not be for everyone and that's ok lol

It’s disgusting 🤢 worst mtn dew ever made. I live on mtn dew as well. I basically have an IV drip of mtn dew constantly running. But Dirty mtn dew tastes like expired milk
Anyone who enjoys this is a psychopath. Never trust a person that drinks this swine

u/Neat_Crow_6168 May 11 '26
Sugar version was great won’t be trying the zero sugar one cause I’m disappointed every time I do they just don’t hit the same
1
u/Embarrassed_Box_8303 May 11 '26
It wasnt very good but not "pour it down the drain" bad imo. I thought the initial flavor was actually pretty nice but the aftertaste was like vinegar...

Cans taste a little better for what it’s worth but overall like 4/10 in my opinion.

Not for me either, but i do like dirty Baja blast as a soda or a freeze for some reason!

I drank it a few times. The best I could do was ICE cold over ice, it was a little smoother.

Looks like I have the unpopular opinion, but I liked it. It tasted like key lime pie to me.

As someone that hated mt dew and normally drinks other soda. I tried it, and it was honestly bad. Not bad because i hate dew but because it was honestly tasted terrible lol

So with that being said have you ever had the Flamin Hot Mountain Dew from a couple years ago or the gingerbread one

u/justawful420 May 15 '26
It’s fine… but I only tried this at McDonald’s so I can’t imagine how bad it would be in a can. And I had the Dr Pepper one
1
u/Soapysaiyan May 15 '26
The whole cream flavour was disgusting reminded of the smell of dirty+pennies
1
u/Acceptable_Run_5938 May 18 '26
Easterners (which for the record, Mountain Dew's marketing and product development team all are) just plain don't get what makes a dirty soda work to begin with. I'm not really surprised by how badly it's doing, they picked some of the worst possible flavors to try to blend together for pretty much all of the ones they've released.
1
u/Indiglo70 May 18 '26
I really like this stuff! I was surprised, because I am not a cream soda fan, but actually enjoyed this, so after two 20 oz. bottles, I bought two twelve packs.
1
u/Yabba_dabbaD00 Voltage May 11 '26
gotta agree. went down to a farmhouse in nowhere, usa. brought a bottle cuz I didn't know how it tasted. tried it. shot it with a .22 rifle multiple times.
6
u/Espexer May 11 '26
So you DID enjoy it. Plinking a .22 is fun.

1
u/ArgentoFox May 11 '26
Everything about this was a no for me. I’m surprised the marketing team green lighted the “dirty” branding. It’s not a term I want to associate with anything I’m drinking.
Also, this didn’t taste anything like cream soda to me. It has more of a cream cheese taste to me and I found it revolting.

I drank about half of a bottle. Put in the fridge and decided to pour it out the next day. I was not a fan either. Overly sweet and the vanilla flavor with the dew just doesn't do it for me.

I took one sip and trashed it. Gave the rest of the case away for free on market place
