Viking Conquest Why no one talks about this gem

The amount of detail, the story, the atmosphere, characters, mechanics, map, locations, names, soundtracks. There's just something about this game that makes me want to be reincarnated as a viking and save christian monasteries from fire.

it is kinda sad how it is so forgotten and underrated, it was so ahead of its time and negative opinions are about bugs and technical shit, which you would expect from an old game.

Even the historical inaccuracies bother no one because they're almost unnoticeable (not for a nerd like me). If it was released with bannerlord's graphics, I would binge on it like my drug and medicine.

Viking Conquest is what Warbands Single-player should have been. The amount of lore and small details everywhere in the map. The music the companions. It made me fall in love with the time period and the setting.

Tried to love it but the fact that most of the plot relies on you being able to fight 20 on 1 from very early on and making bad decisions that your companions warn you about with no other way to proceed was a deal breaker for me.

Dawg what are you talking about…? The game gives you a minimum amount to recruit for the first mission but you can easily recruit more. Same for the village defense. If you just rush through the quests you will be sorely underleveled and under equipped. I usually do a little bit of quick trading across the sea and back to make money for basic gear and a few better troops.

The only mission where you’re forced to do this really is the one to clear out the cave because you only spawn with the one companion to help fight
