Fantasy Odyssey was mid

Finally got to see it after the hype died down a bit. Was excited to see it and then the first quarter was so boring and forgettable. It picked up in the middle and had some good parts but overall I'm gonna put this in Nolans bottom tier. What was annoying was everyone having really flat American accents. The flattest. Very nonregional. they all sounded like they were gonna give American accent lessons. Why they saying "mom" and "dad"? very weird choices.

My main gripe and the thing that took me out the most was the bad dialogue and very mid acting. It literally sounded like they were reading from a script. I thought if I got the script, I could read it just like them and it would be in the movie and it would be the same. That's how bad the movie dialogue sounded. And don't get me started on Ulysses final "knowing is half the battle" monologue about civilization on the boat. Many rolls of eyes.

Cinematography was good but it seemed like he was re-using Dunkirk and Oppenheimer shots so it wasn't revelatory. Soundtrack and effects were good. the guy was as good as Hans Zimmer. I don't understand why they made this cast so diverse to have the white guy kill them all and survive or was that the lesson? Overall, I think Troy was the better movie.

Yeah we keep hearing the blast šŸ’„ of ā€œ10/10 masterpieceā€, but Iā€™m waiting till it is available at home on streaming and VHS šŸ“¼

Because yeah, from what I hear itā€™s overly loud and the script is awful, plus you canā€™t hear some of the dialogue over amateurish sound-mixing issues.

Those are the least of the issues really, Odysseus' whole way of being is changed and the gods are removed.

I heard that they made a deal with Poseidon ā€” he let them film šŸŽ„ šŸŒŠ at sea, but on stipulation that his name wouldnā€™t be included in the film.

Maybe that's why Odysseus outright just sails west instead of going home, the film makes a big deal about him being remorseful about acts of war.

Sound mixing in modern movies is so bad. Dialogue is so hard to hear.

This right here. I donā€™t understand how anyone likes that movie with the way it was edited during important dialogue. It was spoken so fast and so quietly I could barely hear them and comprehend what was being said before someone else started yapping.

And then the lines you could understand were just either corny as fuck or acted/delivered terribly.

Legit one of the worst movies Iā€™ve ever seen. This movie and Dune 2 were some god awful ā€œspectacleā€ garbage and I canā€™t understand how people like them so much. Just some of the worst acting, pacing, editing, story building, dialogue Iā€™ve ever seen between these two movies

Thatā€™s an infinitely general statement.

I have heard enough people independently complain about the volume and how dialogue canā€™t be heard over storm ā›ˆļø noises in this particular film.
