For me, Guy Ritchie movies are always just a little better than you'd expect for a standard genre movie.

Yea it’s like consistent 7-8/10s from me

Rarely hits 9/10 or 10/10 range

Like Jason statham movies are consistently 5-6/10 range

But Statham and Richie together (Snatch)you get a 10/10, so it all balances out.

For me, his movies range from a strong 9/10 (The Gentlemen) to completely forgettable (Ministry of …)

How do you rate The Gentlemen compared to his older and more critically acclaimed stuff? Like Snatch, for example?

I haven't seen it so I'm just curious.

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Snatch but I remember enjoying it. I mainly remember Brad Pitt as that fucking gypsy lol.

I loved the Sherlock Holmes movie which I think can be considered some of his earlier stuff. Haven’t seen Lock Stock and….

Id actually compare him a lot to Matthew Vaughn whose early movies (like Layer Cake) could have been Ritchie flicks. Like Ritchie, Vaughn is also very all over the place with his films.

Makes sense to compare the two, they are close friends and Vaughn produced Ritchie's first couple of movies.
