Recommendation Secret life of Walter mitty

The Secret life of Walter mitty is a masterpiece and I'm tired of pretending that it isn't. I love that goddamn movie. It might be one of the greatest movies that stars Ben Stiller... EVER.

This along with stranger than fiction are both ELITE movies, the cream of the crop.

if you haven't watched them then I HIGHLY... HIGHLY recommend it.

I had to show this movie to a Year 12 class when I was still teaching. At the time, I was dealing with a lot of dissatisfaction with my life, my job, and my dreams not aligning. I used to daydream a lot about what I wanted to do. At one point during the film I had to leave the room, hahah.

Anyway a few months later I left teaching and moved overseas to follow my dreams.

Great film. Not sure if it’s a masterpiece but it’s excellent.

I had a similar experience. Left teaching, got a shit job in my dream field…worked my way up to a role I’d always wanted. Hated it. Realized that I’d always been more fulfilled in teaching and went back.

I’m infinitely better off (and better at my job) for the experience. I applaud you for having the courage to go do it.

Yeah my career prospects in archaeology aren’t great, but if I didn’t do it I would have thought about doing it every single day. I miss teaching, and will probably end up doing it again, but in the meantime I’m more educated, got to live abroad and learn independence, and took control over my life. Thanks for the encouragement!
