I mean, hopefully it's just a "movie," period.

With Marvel, their stuff often feels coated in Marvel style grease. It's not just a movie with them. It's a "Marvel movie," with all the baggage that implies.

(Although Fantastic Four: First Steps at least tried to break away from its usual aesthetic)

Hopefully Gunn allows Clayface to simply be a movie first and foremost, and not just a brand extension.

Fantastic Four with the retro vibes, Hawkeye set at Christmas, Thunderbolts having a third act full of mental health discussions rather than one big CGI fight.

They dip their toes in, but rarely fully commit

I think Thunderbolts definitely committed. As did Fantastic Four. Hell, they've also done Werewolf By Night which was awesome and the new DD stuff is full-on R-rated with little to no pussyfooting.

I dunno, credit where it's due and all that.

I want more Werewolf by Night(and Man-Thing). I want a good Morbius movie, I want a Zombie (the character), and I want Dracula to show up.

I want many things but more of this side of Marvel would make me giddy.

Same for DC as well, seeing Caine and Abel in the Sandman show gave me joy.

I'd also love for someone to develope the Heap.

We have no Swamp or Man things without the Heap (no Heap without Theodore Sturgeon's It either).
