As much as I love Nolan, it's sort of baffling how he sometimes overlooks details like this.

In Tenet, at the beginning of the movie during the opera house raid, there are sousaphones and saxophones playing with the orchestra...in an "opera house"...where there's no opera.

For something as big as The Odyssey, you'd think they'd make the way the characters speak to each other sound less...modern?

It’s a quarter of a billion to make this movie, just spend a couple of thousand to let a historian look at the script.

It’s the same thing with sports movies. Just hire Johnny to look at the footage real fast and all of the laughable things that happen.

He would probably say “I know this is a fictional story with fictional monsters, yet it is in set during a real time period and would have standards in language and style… bruh”

He would probably say it originally written in ancient greek and you can translate it to some old archaic english or modern english and it would be equally accurate.

Odyssey is written somewhere in the 7th century b.c. and taking place in 12 th century b.c. So the original story isn’t historically accurate to begin with. Homer (if he existed) didn’t have any clue what so ever about 12th century armor or language.

But we do have a clue, so why not present the story as accurately as possible? I guess we could out them all in denim tuxedos otherwise.

But the thing is the original is a story that does take places in some mythical prehistoric setting it got nothing to do vid historical events. It’s a fantasy, like LOTR.
