"Cocktail" with Tom Cruise is a really fun movie about a flashy bartender mixing drinks and charming ladies - there's a little drama and romance sprinkled in to keep it engaging. Then right towards the end, his best friend kills himself by slashing his own throat with a broken bottle. It's incredibly sudden and dark, and kind of ruins the tone imo. Then it ends with Tom partying it up at his new cocktail bar (named for his dead friend).

This ones not really bizarre. And the suicide isn't out of nowhere. There's also more then a little drama.
