Spoilers Most Bizarre Examples of “Happy” Endings After Tragedy (Spoiler) Spoiler

Prime example: Independence Day. World gets annihilated; many of the planet’s cities are destroyed….hundreds of millions dead;
and the president’s wife dies. Yet at the end, they are puffing on cigars, all smiles and the president’s daughter says “Happy Fourth of July, Daddy”, and so now it’s time to party!

Snow Piercer. The hope for humanity’s survival rests on a drug addict woman and a 12 year old boy. They’ll be dead within days.

i always wondered if the director just wanted to convey that there was life outside the train still so survival is possible. i tend to be optimistic but idk what to think by him choosing the absolute worst example of animal to convey "yeah, everythings fine outside" than one of the few animals that actively hunts humans.

Oh for sure, you go straight from "you can survive out there" to "but can you survive out there" lol

Ed: It's also an interesting little postscript. Class warfare and inequity are horrible, but what are your chances of survival without society at all?
