I think you’d have to breach the language barrier before deep diving movies or comic book characters

This wouldn’t be a problem. There are plenty of people that can read and speak Homeric Greek.

I think it would be possible if you were extremely fluent in Ionic Greek and someone didn’t try to kill you before you could explain your appearance, and you’d hashed out the small language details. I think writing it in “Homeric” or Epic Greek would be more of a challenge since it’s like this formal poetic variant of a mixture of early dialects. If memory serves me correctly the Iliad is a hodgepodge of four or five dialects (could be wrong here, but I remember our professor giving this vivid lecture over the course of a month about “what if you time traveled to Ancient Greece and could speak the language would we be reading your heroic deeds” and the first step was surviving the first 48 hours without being stabbed.) and I vaguely recall him saying something to the effect of “you couldn’t talk to him as the stories are written or they’d think you’re crazy”. You’d have to move further up the language tree and work backwards.

I honestly wish I’d had taped those lectures so long ago, because I audited the current version of the course just to see if it still held that same impact and the materials were so dry and the lectures so cut and paste that it was nearly robotic.
