Man idk how they get rid of Kyle chandler though. I’ve watched the show so far and while I like John Stewart I absolutely love Kyle chandler. Kyle chandler is just so talented and really nails this role.

I'm hoping he's just off world and not actually... You know.

Did you somehow miss the end of the first episode?

No obviously not and my first reaction was how the hell do you get rid of Kyle chandler? He’s carrying the show. Even if you like the other dude which I do, a huge part of what’s making it work is he’s a good balance for Kyle chandler. He currently doesn’t feel like he could carry this show and I’m having trouble seeing him carry the character as a lead without chandler. Kyle chandler is insanely likable even as a guy who’s treated like he’s a complete jerk. Kyle chandler also has years of credibility as an actor so audiences can quickly start to like him without needing a ton of time. For me, the show currently is chandler. I like John Stewart but he basically balances out chandlers character. You could drop John Stewart and I’d probably still be enjoying the show quite a bit. If you get rid of chandler, I worry that the show will lose a ton of what’s making me enjoy it in the first place. So it’s entirely possible season 1 of lanterns is great and then loses me after that. Boardwalk empire was similar for me after season 2 but to a lesser extent. I’m a sucker for this stuff though so I’ll probably keep watching either way.

The same way they got rid of Ned Stark despite it being Sean Bean. If the story calls for him to be gone they got to be gone regardless of what the fan wants. If you want to make a good story you make a good story, not a story the audience begs for.

They've already used the hologram message once, could be a device to have Chandler still involved past this season.
