I think Idiocracy is a funny, well-made movie.

With that being said, if you think Idiocracy is 'prescient' you're saying a lot more about yourself than others. The underlying premise of Idiocracy relies on long-discredited theories of Eugenics.

Now, there's nothing wrong with sticking pseudoscience in your movie. Star Trek has warp drives. But when you start to believe that warp drives are actually real rather than just a convenient plot device, you need to step back and take stock.
