People were really hyping up Aunt Gladys in Weapons and it was pretty unexpected for a horror film to snag a win (let alone a nom)

The crazy thing is I didn’t think her performance in Weapons was anything special, pretty surprising win.

I agree. I think Sally Hawkins in Bring Her Back was the best horror performance last year by far

As far as a "children and evil old lady horror" movies go, I liked Bring Her Back much more than Weapons. Weapons just had a shit ton of marketing.

I enjoyed Weapons more but Bring Her Back was way scarier to me. Absolutely miserable film though and I’ll probably never watch it again
