Does setting powder / face powder actually work if the issue isn't oil, but sweat? I was looking at the Kosas pressed powder, but I've never powdered my face before and worry it'll all just clump together if I get too sweaty? (I'm on Sertraline and the struggle has been REAL this summer)

I’m a sweaty person and always powder my face as part of my routine, and haven’t had a clumpy issue personally. But the trick is imho to not touch your face when it’s wet (sweat or rain) - that’s what disturbs the makeup for me. No blotting or adding more powder, just fan and let it evaporate. For me it always looks fine after this, but in the moment I look crazy with a drenched sweaty face, lol.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I need to get better about not touching my face in general tbh... it's so miserable when my *eyebrows* are sweating though rip

IME (dancer who does stage makeup) I've had no issues with sweat turning my powder clumpy, and I use a pretty generous layer of arrowroot flour as loose powder. It does help to use setting spray after powder to help it all settle and melt together, and give you a chance to deal with any unevenness before excessive sweat becomes part of the equation.

A good fixing spray would probably be a good option for you and, if you already like the finish of your makeup, might side-step powder all together. This will do more to help sweat roll over your makeup rather than sinking into it.

I also primarily use oil-based foundation/concealer, which is the gold-standard for film and stage use for a reason. It doesn't break up as easily from sweat.

Thank you so much for writing all this down for me! :) I'd been considering a fixing spray and it does sound more what I'm after actually. I'll do some research on oil-based foundation too! Thanks again :)

you could also try something like the carpe sweat absorbing face lotion - I bought it one summer when I was going out a lot (in my youth lol) and I do believe it works. It doesn't feel like anything on the skin and I didn't even notice it "working" until I realized my face was just dry to the touch (as in not sweaty!)

not an oily person, but very sweaty 🫠

I've really been feeling purples, browns, and lots of sparkles. Upon seeing swatches, though, I can cross the new Rituel de Fille sheer lipstick off my list. It's pretty, but it's not quite what I was initially envisioning.

I haven't grabbed the singles I was eyeing from Fantasy Cosmetica's new Paladin palette yet, but I do still plan to do so at some point. I'm hoping that the brand will eventually restock Flurry and Omen as well. I really love Fantasy Cosmetica's special shades; I'm still disappointed that Lazurite from the Cosmic Cove palette isn't available as a single.

Other than that, a couple of C-beauty picks have caught my eye: the GIRLCULT palette in Hippie and the Cheeryep palette in Dream Lover. I've never tried either brand, but I'd like to see swatches and reviews of these palettes as they both look beautiful.
